Job Title: Data Tester (Manual)  Azure  Location: NY/NJ - Hybrid (1 day in NY, 1 day in NJ)
Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented data tester with strong experience in manual data validation and Azure data platforms. The candidate will be responsible for validating ETL/ELT pipelines, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and completeness across Azure-based data solutions, including Databricks and Azure Data Factory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform manual testing of data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
  • Validate data ingestion and transformation in Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Databricks.
  • Conduct source-to-target data validation and reconciliation.
  • Write and execute complex SQL queries for data validation and analysis.
  • Validate data transformations using Python / PySpark (PySQL).
  • Perform data quality checks (nulls, duplicates, referential integrity, aggregations).
  • Test batch and incremental data loads.
  • Identify, log, and track defects using tools like JIRA/Azure DevOps.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and business teams to resolve data issues.
  • Support UAT and production validation activities.

Required Skills

  • Strong SQL skills (joins, aggregations, subqueries, window functions).
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF).
  • Experience working with Azure Databricks.
  • Knowledge of Python / PySpark / PySQL for data validation.
  • Experience with Azure Data Lake / Azure SQL.
  • Good understanding of ETL/ELT concepts and data warehousing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Experience & Qualification

  • 12 years of experience in data/ETL testing.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or engineering.
