Lead MSP Field Engineer/Remote/some travel Ohio

A growing managed services provider is hiring a Lead MSP Engineer for a full-time remote opportunity with onsite travel to Ohio twice per month. This company specializes in enterprise infrastructure, cloud modernization, cybersecurity, and managed IT solutions for mid-market and enterprise clients across multiple industries. You'll work heavily with Microsoft technologies, VMware, networking, cloud platforms, and automation tools while leading complex infrastructure initiatives in a fast-paced MSP environment. This is a full-time direct hire opportunity offering strong compensation, leadership visibility, and long-term growth potential.
Required Skills & Experience
7+ years of experience in an MSP or consulting environment
Strong experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365
Hands-on expertise with VMware or Hyper-V virtualization
Advanced networking knowledge including firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, and routing/switching
Experience leading technical projects and mentoring junior engineers
Strong troubleshooting and client-facing communication skills
Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS
Ability and willingness to travel onsite to Ohio twice monthly
Desired Skills & Experience
Experience with automation and scripting using PowerShell
Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and endpoint security tools
Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions
Exposure to Red Hat Linux environments
Certifications such as Microsoft, VMware, Cisco, or Azure
Previous experience acting as a technical lead or escalation engineer
