Position Overview
We are looking for a senior-level expert to define, design, and implement end-to-end Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions within SAP S/4HANA and ECC environments. In this client-facing leadership role, you will manage the entire product lifecycle from conceptual design and engineering to manufacturing and service. You will bridge the gap between R&D, engineering, and IT, ensuring seamless data flow, robust engineering change management, and tight integration with CAD systems and downstream ERP processes (MM, PP, QM). Whether focusing on project delivery or strategic architecture, you will be the trusted advisor guiding clients through their digital innovation journey.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Architecture & Strategy
Lead discovery workshops with engineering, R&D, and manufacturing stakeholders to translate complex product development requirements into scalable SAP PLM architectures.
Design end-to-end PLM solutions, defining global templates for multinational rollouts while accommodating industry-specific engineering and regulatory needs.
Architect critical PLM processes, including Engineering Change Management (ECM), Document Management System (DMS), Product Data Management (PDM), Recipe/Formulation Management, and Variant Configuration (VC).
Define integration strategies between SAP PLM and critical external systems, including CAD tools (e.g., Teamcenter, CATIA, AutoCAD, SolidWorks), PLM third-party platforms, and SAP ERP modules.
Project Leadership & Delivery (Lead Focus)
Lead full-life cycle implementations from blueprinting and realization through go-live and post-implementation support.
Manage project teams, coordinate tasks, conduct fit-gap analysis, and drive workshop outcomes to ensure successful delivery of project phases.
Oversee system configuration, testing (unit, integration, UAT), and deployment activities, ensuring adherence to best practices and timelines.
Provide day-to-day guidance and mentorship to functional and technical team members.
Technical Vision & Governance (Architect Focus)
Define the overall technical vision, system landscape, and data migration strategies for complex PLM programs.
Ensure the technical feasibility of proposed solutions, including performance, scalability, and security considerations.
Govern the development of custom enhancements, interfaces, and forms, ensuring alignment with the long-term architectural roadmap.
Leverage SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) for extending PLM capabilities, building innovative applications, and enabling advanced analytics.
Technical & Integration Expertise
Provide specialized knowledge in CAD/PLM integration, ensuring seamless synchronization of engineering drawings and Bill of Materials (eBOM to mBOM).
Oversee the configuration of Material Masters, Bills of Material (BOMs), Product Structures, and Document Info Records (DIRs).
Collaborate with PP, MM, QM, and SD teams to ensure PLM processes flow seamlessly into manufacturing planning, procurement, and quality management.
Manage data cleansing, migration, and validation strategies to ensure high-quality master data in the new PLM environment.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Experience: 8-15+ years of SAP consulting experience, with a minimum of 5+ years specialized in SAP PLM (SAP S/4HANA PLM strongly preferred).
Project Track Record: A proven history of delivering 2-3+ full-life cycle SAP PLM implementations, from blueprint to go-live.
Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of product development lifecycles, engineering change processes, document control, and regulatory compliance.
Core PLM Expertise: Hands-on expertise in configuring and architecting:
Engineering Change Management (ECM) with change master records and revision levels.
Document Management System (DMS) with document structures, workflows, and authorization.
Product Data Management (PDM) and BOM management (eBOM, mBOM).
Recipe/Formulation Management for process industries.
Variant Configuration (VC) for complex, make-to-order products.
Integration: Strong experience integrating PLM with CAD systems and SAP modules (MM, PP, QM, SD).

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (Master's or MBA preferred).
SAP Certifications in SAP PLM or SAP S/4HANA for Product Management.
Experience in specific industries such as Aerospace & Defense, Automotive, Industrial Machinery, Life Sciences, or Consumer Products.
Knowledge of SAP Enterprise Portfolio and Project Management (EPPM) or SAP Innovation Management.
Familiarity with SAP BTP for PLM extensions and analytics.
