Hybrid 3 on in Charlotte, NC

Our client seeks a Lead Scrum Master to coach Agile teams within an infrastructure-focused environment. The role will guide teams on Agile principles and practices, facilitate key Agile ceremonies, and promote a culture of continuous improvement. The successful candidate will partner with Product Owners, remove impediments, manage risks and dependencies, and provide actionable metrics to support value delivery. The position values strong communication, stakeholder management, and the ability to operate effectively in hybrid Agile and waterfall contexts.

Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Rate: $62.00 to $72.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:
  • Exemplify servant leadership and coach teams in self-organization, cross-functionality, and Agile best practices.
  • Advance team maturity by introducing concepts and disciplines that drive measurable value delivery.
  • Encourage continuous improvement through assessments and a maintained improvement roadmap.
  • Partner with Product Owners to maintain a clear, prioritized product backlog and communicate product goals.
  • Educate teams and stakeholders on Scrum, Kanban, and applicable scaling frameworks. Ensure artifact quality and team focus.
  • Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews or demos, program increment planning, and retrospectives.
  • Provide and analyze Agile metrics, including burndown and velocity, to enable data-driven decisions.
  • Identify and manage impediments, risks, and dependencies through resolution.
  • Facilitate transparent communication with stakeholders to ensure alignment.

Experience Requirements:
  • Graduation from a four-year college or university or 7 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 5+ years of experience with product and project concepts and practices.
  • 3+ years of Scrum Master experience.
  • Scrum Master certification such as CSM or PSM I, or equivalent.
  • Experience guiding teams from waterfall to Agile methodologies preferred.
  • Strong written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.
  • Ability to present persuasively and informatively to all levels of the organization.
  • Skilled in relationship building and coaching individuals shifting to an Agile mindset.
  • Consulting experience with a major or boutique firm is a plus.
  • Experience coaching value-driven backlog prioritization techniques.
  • Ability to tailor Agile approaches such as Scrum or Kanban to team context.
  • Problem-solving orientation with capacity to manage multiple efforts of varying complexity.
  • Learner mindset with aptitude to apply lessons learned.
  • Jira or Power BI exposure preferred. Prior project management background and telecom familiarity are beneficial but not required.
