Role OverviewWe are seeking a mid-level Software Engineer to support a data platform serving multiple enterprise domains, including Corporate Properties, Supply Chain Management (SCM), and Corporate Security. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and persistence layers, primarily using SQL and Google Cloud technologies.
This position is intended to increase team capacity and enable senior engineers to focus on next-generation initiatives. The ideal candidate is a self-directed engineer who can operate with minimal supervision and contribute immediately within an Agile, Scrum-based environment.
Responsibilities- Consult on and contribute to moderately complex software engineering initiatives and deliverables.
- Design, develop, and maintain SQL-based data solutions supporting large data volumes.
- Build and maintain data pipelines to ingest data from upstream systems and deliver it to downstream consumers.
- Contribute to data modeling, data design, and data persistence strategies.
- Analyze and resolve moderately complex engineering challenges by evaluating multiple variables and trade-offs.
- Collaborate closely with software engineers, data engineers, automation engineers, and client stakeholders.
- Adhere to established engineering standards, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies as part of a cross-functional team of approximately 10 members.
Minimum Qualifications- 4+ years of professional software engineering experience, or equivalent practical experience.
- 6+ years of hands-on SQL development experience.
- Experience working with large-scale data volumes.
- Proficiency in data modeling and data design concepts.
- Experience with Python in a production environment.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and quickly take ownership of new tasks.
Preferred Qualifications- 5-8 years of overall engineering experience.
- 1-2 years of hands-on cloud experience, preferably Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform).
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, adaptable mindset.
