Role Overview
This position is for a Senior Software Developer within an Investments & Capital Markets division. The role involves contributing to an enterprise forecasting platform that supports long-term financial projections, strategic planning, and decision-making. The developer will enhance core features of forecasting engines to improve model accuracy and performance, support critical production runs for financial reporting, and collaborate with stakeholders to implement new forecasting capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Refactor and modernize components of the financial accounting and forecasting application to improve maintainability, performance, and scalability.
- Develop and enhance core forecasting engine features to improve model accuracy and runtime efficiency.
- Support critical quarterly production runs for financial reporting by monitoring execution and troubleshooting issues.
- Diagnose and resolve defects, reduce technical debt, and ensure alignment with software engineering best practices.
- Write clean, high-quality code supported by automated unit and integration tests.
- Coordinate with team members across the data, services, APIs, and infrastructure stack.
- Partner with stakeholders to implement new forecasting capabilities and meet business and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with infrastructure upgrades, platform migrations, and adoption of new technologies.
- Contribute to design discussions, code reviews, and documentation.
Required Qualifications
Experience: At least 5 years of hands-on software development experience. 2-3 years of experience using Git for source control and 2-3 years with unit testing frameworks. 2-3 years of experience with SQL and relational database development. 1-2 years of experience with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker, Podman, or Kubernetes.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with a modern programming language such as Python or Java. Proficiency with shell scripting for automation and operational support. Familiarity with Agile development processes.
Other Qualifications: An understanding of fixed income concepts, including duration, convexity, and option-adjusted spread (OAS). Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- A graduate degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Mathematics, or Statistics.
- Certifications such as CFA, FRM, or CPA, or significant progress toward them.
- A strong understanding of GAAP accounting fundamentals.
- Experience with product and project management tools like JIRA.
- Experience engaging with stakeholders to gather requirements and align on priorities.
Compensation & Benefits
The anticipated pay range for this position is between $70.00 and $80.00 per hour. Please note that the final pay rate will be determined based on a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, qualifications, and location.
