Overview

A direct client is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Claims Analyst to support a portfolio of Architects & Engineers (A&E) professional liability claims within a programs environment. This is a contract opportunity focused on managing a book of established claims, allowing internal teams to prioritize other active areas.

This role requires a high level of technical expertise and the ability to independently manage claims from start to finish, with a focus on coverage analysis, defense management, and resolution. 

Key Responsibilities

• Handle A&E professional liability claims from acknowledgment through resolution
• Manage a portfolio of primarily established (runoff) claims, with some new matters
• Perform coverage analysis and draft coverage correspondence
• Retain and manage defense counsel
• Lead and participate in mediations, settlement conferences, and negotiations
• Maintain regular communication with internal stakeholders, brokers, and counsel
• Prioritize and actively move claims toward resolution
• Represent the organization in settlement discussions as needed

Claims Exposure

• Primary focus on Architects & Engineers E&O
• Limited involvement with Lawyers Professional Liability (LPL)
• Policy limits typically ranging from $1M–$5M
• Insureds are primarily small to mid-sized design firms

Qualifications

• 5–7+ years of experience handling professional liability claims
• Strong background in Architects & Engineers (A&E) E&O required
• Demonstrated ability to:
• Conduct coverage analysis
• Draft coverage and position letters
• Manage external defense counsel
• Proven ability to independently manage complex claims

• Experience in broader professional liability (E&O) lines 
• Legal background is beneficial but not required
• Prior experience managing or closing runoff claims is advantageous
