The Technical Product Manager (TPM) serves as a critical conduit between our business stakeholders, clinical & business operations, and our development teams. Possessing a unique blend of business and technical savvy, the TPM is an expert in healthcare software solutions who transforms complex clinical needs and business objectives into well-defined functional and technical requirements.
This role is central to driving the development of our software applications, ensuring they not only meet business objectives but also enhance the ability of our care teams to provide excellent patient care. From initial concepts through development, launch, and ongoing expansion, this position requires close interaction with development design leads and other IT partners, customers, and business stakeholders to ensure product success.
Roles & Responsibilities:
· Product Strategy & Roadmap: Collaborate with business partners and architecture leads to understand long-term business plans, define product strategy, and contribute to the technology roadmap. Develop business cases, cost-benefit analyses, and ROI calculations to support strategic decisions.
· Requirements Definition: Translate business objectives, market analysis, business and clinical needs into clear product specifications, epics, and user stories for the development team. Interact with business users to gather and document requirements and model business processes.
· Agile Leadership: Lead the agile development process by managing the product backlog, prioritizing features, and actively participating in planning. Drive trade-off decisions regarding cost, content, and timelines throughout the discovery, scoping and development cycles.
· Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as the primary liaison between the development team and key stakeholders—including various business partners, other IT teams, product management, and technical leads—to ensure alignment, manage expectations, and resolve conflicts.
· Product Lifecycle Management: Manage the entire lifecycle of product delivery, from market analysis and requirements gathering to implementation and commercialization. Manage product fixes and enhancements based on customer feedback, analyzing their impact and prioritizing them within the product backlog.
· Go-to-Market & Launch Support: Actively participate in shaping the go-to-market strategy. Assist with system implementation, rollout, release documentation, training, and communication to ensure successful product launches and user adoption.
· Technical Consultation: Serve as a customer liaison on technical issues and act as a technical consultant to the product organization, leading research and prototyping of innovative technologies.
· Documentation & Reporting: Create and maintain essential product documentation, such as functional design documents, to serve as a reliable source of truth. Define quantifiable metrics to track the value realized over time.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
· 7+ years of relevant experience in an IT and/or Healthcare setting.
· 3-5 years of experience in a Technical Product Manager, Product Owner, or Senior Business Analyst role within an agile software development environment.
· Proven track record of managing software products through the full lifecycle, from concept to launch and iteration.
· Strong experience in developing business cases, cost-benefit analysis, and ROI calculations.
· Deep understanding of agile methodologies, the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and the requirements management process.
· Exceptional ability to gather, interpret, and translate complex business needs into detailed technical requirements, user stories, and functional specifications.
· Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills, with a proven ability to facilitate productive conversations with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
· Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity and manage conflicting requirements.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office, Visio, and SharePoint.
· Travel required: up to 25%
