Senior QE Automation Engineer (POS Systems)

Qualitest Digital Quality Engineering team is seeking a Senior QE Automation Engineer with strong experience in Point-of-Sale (POS) systems. This role will drive test strategy, automation excellence, and quality standards across multiple programs. You will partner with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, high-quality retail and consumer solutions while mentoring engineers and advancing QA practices.

Locations: Seattle, WA (primary onsite 4 days/week)

Key Responsibilities

• Lead test strategy, planning, and execution aligned with project scope and timelines
• Own and drive automation frameworks and best practices using modern tools
• Collaborating with Engineering, Product, and UX teams to design scalable test solutions
• Build and maintain robust automated test suites (UI/API)
• Perform functional/manual testing when needed to ensure end-to-end quality
• Define and track test metrics, risks, and quality KPIs; communicate status to stakeholders
• Conduct code reviews for automation and mentor QE team members
• Identify gaps in QA processes, tools, and team capabilities; recommend improvements
• Support CI/CD integration and continuous testing practices
• Research and implement emerging testing tools and technologies (including AI-assisted tools)

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field
• 8+ years of experience in QA and/or software development
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Playwright (preferred) or Cypress
• Strong programming skills and automation framework design experience
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices
• 2+ years of experience testing POS/retail systems (Oracle Xstore is a plus)
• Proficiency with GitHub, JIRA, and test management tools
• Experience in risk-based testing, test planning, and defect management
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills
