IT Support Technician
On-site | Austin, TX | Contract
Robert Half is hiring an IT Support Technician to support a client in Austin, Texas. This is a long-term contract position offering an incredible opportunity to contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of critical systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise and a proactive approach to problem-solving, ensuring the seamless operation of IT environments.
Responsibilities:
Provide technical support for Windows and Linux systems, focusing on system upgrades and maintenance.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Active Directory and Microsoft Windows environments.
Manage service desk tickets efficiently, ensuring timely resolution of user requests and incidents.
Perform basic troubleshooting for hardware and software issues to maintain optimal system performance.
Assist with operating system upgrades, including Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux, to enhance security and functionality.
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth implementation of system updates and changes.
Maintain detailed documentation of processes, configurations, and resolutions for future reference.
Monitor system performance and provide recommendations for improvement.
Support end users by addressing technical queries and providing training as needed.
Ensure compliance with organizational IT policies and standards.
Requirements
Requirements:
Proficiency in Active Directory management and configuration.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10 and Windows Server systems.
Experience with basic troubleshooting of hardware and software issues.
Familiarity with managing service desk tickets and workflows.
Understanding of operating system upgrades for Windows and Linux platforms.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with users and team members.
