Rapiscan, an OSI Systems Company is seeking a Software Engineering Summer Intern, based out of Billerica, MA.

The primary function of this position is to support the software engineering team in many aspects of the DevOps process. This candidate will have the capacity to collaborate with the software engineering team to review and demonstrate progress, seek technical expertise when needed and ensure tasks are implemented according to requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in case studies, technology research and software prototyping.
  • Perform many phases of the software life cycle development, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, documentation, peer reviews, and unit testing.
  • Contribute to the development of tools, utilities, and emulators that improve software testing.
  • Make regular modifications to existing software for error correction.
  • Solve challenging and technical problems using state-of-the-art technologies.
  • Support software related requests and support issues.
  • Support, maintain, automate, and enhance the software build process using Microsoft Azure DevOps pipelining
  • Track and manage backlog tasks daily and communicate with peers.

  • Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.

Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited Bachelor or Master of Science degree program in Computer Science or related engineering.
  • Knowledge of data structures and basic programming principles
  • Knowledge of Windows operating systems
  • Aptitude for identifying and solving problems
  • Ability to clearly communicate with members of the software engineering

Pay may range from $25.00 to $30.00 per hour

The specific programs and options available to any given employee may vary depending on eligibility factors such as geographic location and date of hire.
