Senior Data Platform Security Architect

Job Description: We are seeking a Senior Data Platform Security Architect to lead the design, implementation, and governance of security across enterprise data platforms. This role will act as the subject matter expert for data security architecture and will work closely with engineering, data, compliance, and cybersecurity teams to ensure secure and compliant data environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect and implement security frameworks for data lakes, data warehouses, and streaming platforms
• Define and enforce data security standards including access control, encryption, data masking, and tokenization
• Design and implement Identity and Access Management models (RBAC, ABAC, least privilege)
• Lead threat modeling, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as GDPR, CCPA, SOC 2, and SOX
• Implement monitoring, logging, and audit frameworks for data platforms
• Collaborate across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform environments in multi-cloud setups
• Provide technical leadership and mentor teams on secure data architecture

Required Skills:

• 8+ years of experience in Information Security
• 4+ years in data platform or cloud data security architecture
• Strong experience securing data lakes, warehouses, and streaming systems
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Kafka, Spark
• Deep expertise in IAM (RBAC, ABAC), encryption, and data protection techniques
• Experience with security tools such as SIEM, DLP, and vulnerability scanners
• Strong knowledge of compliance frameworks (GDPR, CCPA, SOC 2, SOX, NIST)
• Programming knowledge in Python, SQL, or Bash

Preferred Skills:

• Certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or AWS Security Specialty
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar)
• Familiarity with data governance tools like Collibra or Alation
• Experience in regulated industries such as Financial Services or Telecom

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to translate technical risks into business impact
• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking
