Data Infrastructure Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Data Infrastructure Engineer in Greenwood Village, CO.

Summary:
We're looking for a Data Infrastructure Engineer to build and optimize scalable data pipelines that support data science and production systems. This is an engineering-focused role centered on cloud infrastructure, data pipelines, performance optimization, and production reliability-not analytics or reporting.

What You'll Do:
* Build, maintain, and optimize large-scale data pipelines
* Design reusable frameworks and pipeline patterns
* Work heavily in AWS, including EMR
* Optimize jobs for performance, cost, and scalability
* Build reliable data feeds for data science, models, features, and retraining
* Own production pipelines, including testing, monitoring, troubleshooting, backfills, and data corrections
* Help evolve platform architecture and support future streaming use cases
* Navigate and troubleshoot a large, complex monorepo and its many dependencies

REQUIREMENTS:
* Production experience building and optimizing data pipelines
* Strong AWS experience, ideally including EMR
* Strong data and software engineering fundamentals
* Strong SQL skills
* Systems/architecture mindset with the ability to understand complex data flows
* Comfortable working independently and solving problems from scratch

Nice to Have:
* Scala or Java
* Spark
* Kafka or other streaming technologies
* Databricks
* MLflow/machine learning infrastructure experience

The Environment:
You'll be working with large-scale data and complex systems, alongside data science and engineering teams. The platform is evolving toward greater use of Databricks and MLflow, creating opportunities to help shape how machine learning workflows are supported within the data platform.

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
