Description:TEKsystems is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Technician to support the rebuild of a Nashville office. This role is responsible for the installation, configuration, service, troubleshooting, and repair of fire alarm systems. Experience with additional low-voltage systems such as Access Control, CCTV, Nurse Call, and Intercom systems is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:- Program, start up, troubleshoot, and commission new fire alarm system installations
- Perform point-to-point troubleshooting on Fire Alarm systems and related low-voltage systems as required
- Assist with installation projects to ensure successful system deployment
- Identify and escalate installation or system issues to the Project Lead
- Clearly communicate project status, challenges, and completion timelines to project leadership and clients
- Review contract documents and design drawings for accuracy prior to installation
- Perform inspections to ensure fire alarm systems are installed and functioning in compliance with applicable codes
- Complete detailed project documentation and reports
- Maintain strong written and verbal communication with internal teams and external clients
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail to meet customer requirements in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Maintain prompt, regular, and reliable on-site attendance
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Additional Skills & Qualifications:- Knowledge of low-voltage systems including Fire Alarms, Access Control Systems, CCTV, Nurse Calls, and Intercom systems
- Strong technical aptitude with basic computer skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to operate lifts for work beyond ladder limitations
- Ability to carry and climb ladders 8 feet or taller regularly
- Experience using hand tools and multimeters
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and parts manuals
- Comfortable reporting to a Project Manager and providing detailed status updates
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Smyrna, TN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
