Job Title: Senior Database Solutions Architect (Hands-On Platform)

Location: 100% Remote
Duration: 6 Months Contract to Hire
Interview Mode: Video (Teams)

Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Database Solutions Architect with a strong hands-on background in building and operating production-grade, multi-region database platforms. This is not a DBA-only role - the ideal candidate will have deep expertise across infrastructure, networking, and automation, and be capable of working independently without heavy reliance on enterprise tools.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and optimize highly available database platforms (MariaDB, PostgreSQL, TiDB)
Manage multi-region and bare-metal/cloud deployments
Troubleshoot replication issues, slow queries, and performance bottlenecks
Lead Infrastructure as Code initiatives using Terraform, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
Ensure data protection, backup, and recovery strategies
Collaborate on networking architecture and cross-region deployments
Participate in on-call support for critical systems
Partner with engineering teams to define architecture and best practices

Required Skills:

Strong hands-on experience with MariaDB (mandatory) and bare-metal environments
Deep expertise in Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Rocky, Ubuntu)
Experience with HA database systems in multi-region/multi-AZ environments
Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code
Solid understanding of networking and distributed systems
Development experience in Golang and/or Python
Ability to troubleshoot complex production systems independently
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Must have an active LinkedIn profile

Preferred Skills:

Experience with PostgreSQL or TiDB
Prior experience in cloud-native platform engineering

This is a highly technical, hands-on role suited for senior professionals who have built and managed large-scale distributed database platforms from scratch.
