Job Description:
Professional - Project Manager Non Tech III

Location: Home, Arkansas

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Scrum Master to join our team of qualified, diverse professionals supporting a high-visibility, enterprise-scale program. The ideal candidate will lead Agile team-level execution, driving adherence to SAFe principles and ensuring consistent, high-quality delivery across iterations. This position will directly support major modernization efforts and large-scale systems integration initiatives, ensuring alignment with program objectives and organizational standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate all Agile Scrum ceremonies for the team, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Coach team members on Agile and SAFe principles, ensuring consistent application of Lean-Agile practices and alignment with Program Increment (PI) objectives.
  • Ensure the team adheres to sprint commitments and maintains a sustainable pace of delivery across iterations.
  • Identify, track, and remove team-level impediments to maintain uninterrupted progress.
  • Foster continuous improvement by facilitating actionable retrospectives, promoting experimentation, and encouraging transparency within the team.
  • Collaborate closely with the Release Train Engineer (RTE) to provide accurate and timely team metrics, including burn-up and burn-down charts, velocity trends, and capacity planning.
  • Support effective backlog management by partnering with Product Owners to ensure stories are refined, estimated, and prioritized.
  • Coordinate with other Scrum Masters, architects, product teams, and leadership to manage cross-team dependencies and ensure alignment across the Agile Release Train.
  • Promote servant-leadership practices and enable high-performing, self-organizing Agile teams.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and Agile thought leadership across the project or program to strengthen overall Agile maturity.
Required Qualifications

Education: A Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree is required, with 5 years of relevant experience. Alternatively, a Master of Science or Master of Arts degree with 3 years of experience, or a PhD with no years of experience, is acceptable.

Experience: 7+ years of experience as a Scrum Master supporting Agile software development projects in enterprise or government environments. This includes demonstrated expertise in facilitating Scrum ceremonies, coaching teams in SAFe Agile frameworks, and supporting Agile Release Trains.

Skills: Candidates must possess a strong ability to analyze, present, and interpret Agile metrics. Proven success in identifying and removing impediments, guiding teams through conflict, and enabling continuous improvement is required. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are necessary, along with the ability to foster collaboration in virtual teams.

Preferred Qualifications
  • SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), Advanced Scrum Master (SASM), SAFe RTE, CSP-SM, PSM II, or equivalent Agile certifications.
  • Experience working within large-scale transformation initiatives or modernizing legacy systems into cloud, DevSecOps, or microservices architectures.
  • Familiarity with Jira, Azure DevOps, VersionOne, Rally, or similar Agile lifecycle management tools.
  • Experience in government contracting environments.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD practices and DevSecOps principles.
  • Experience supporting multiple Agile teams or mentoring junior Scrum Masters.
