Anaplan Integration Engineer

The Anaplan Integration Engineer supports and enhances an established enterprise integration ecosystem connecting Anaplan, Google BigQuery, and downstream custom applications for a large U.S. retail organization. The engineer maintains and improves Python-based integration components, develops and modifies BigQuery SQL assets, and performs root-cause analysis to resolve production issues. This is not a greenfield build — the ideal candidate operates independently within a live, operational pipeline and ensures business continuity across the full integration landscape. Collaboration with Anaplan Model Builders and downstream engineering teams is a core part of the engagement.

 

🧩 Key Responsibilities

•              Integration Enhancement & Change Management

o             Analyze and implement enhancement and change requests across the full pipeline: Anaplan → Integration Layer → BigQuery → Custom Applications.

•              Python-Based Integration Development

o             Maintain and enhance Python components covering API integration, data extraction, transformation, validation, and reconciliation.

•              BigQuery & SQL Engineering

o             Develop and modify BigQuery SQL, datasets, tables, and views to meet evolving business requirements.

•              Production Support & Troubleshooting

o             Perform root-cause analysis and resolve production issues including failed jobs, data mismatches, and interface errors.

•              Data Reconciliation

o             Conduct source-to-target data reconciliation between Anaplan and BigQuery to ensure data integrity.

•              Cross-Team Collaboration

o             Partner with Anaplan Model Builders and custom application engineering teams to manage downstream impact of model changes.

•              Testing & Performance Optimization

o             Support end-to-end testing after interface changes and implement performance optimizations across the integration pipeline.

Technical Skills

•              Anaplan: Integration APIs, Imports, Exports, Actions, Processes, CloudWorks; familiarity with Modules, Lists, Hierarchies, Dimensions, Line Items, Saved Views

•              Programming: Python (API integration, data transformation, automation)

•              Databases / Query: Google BigQuery, SQL (dataset/table/view development)

•              APIs & Data Interchange: REST APIs, JSON, CSV

•              ETL / ELT: Pipeline development and production support

•              Analysis: Root-cause analysis, impact analysis, data reconciliation

•              Preferred — Cloud & Orchestration: Google Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Cloud Composer / Airflow, Anaplan Data Orchestrator

•              Preferred — DevOps & Lifecycle: Git, CI/CD, API Management, Anaplan ALM
