Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced Anaplan Integration Engineer to support an existing enterprise integration landscape.
The current integration between Anaplan, Google BigQuery, and downstream custom applications is already implemented and operational.
The primary responsibility of this role will be to manage enhancements, change requests, interface modifications, production issues, data reconciliation, and continuous improvement across the existing integration ecosystem.
The candidate should have strong hands-on experience with Anaplan integrations, BigQuery, Python, SQL, REST APIs, and enterprise data integration, with the ability to quickly understand existing implementations and make changes without impacting downstream applications.
Key Responsibilities Enhancement & Change Management
Analyze business and application enhancement requests impacting existing Anaplan integrations.
Perform impact analysis across:
Anaplan Integration Layer BigQuery Custom Applications
Modify existing integrations based on changes to Anaplan models, business rules, or downstream application requirements.
Enhance existing Anaplan exports, saved views, processes, and integration jobs.
Update BigQuery tables, views, SQL logic, and transformation rules as requirements evolve.
Manage schema changes while minimizing impact to consuming applications.
Estimate effort and technical impact for enhancement and change requests.
Anaplan Integration Support
Maintain and enhance existing integrations using:
o Anaplan Integration APIs
o Anaplan Imports / Exports
o Actions and Processes
o CloudWorks
o Existing integration scripts and frameworks
Understand changes within Anaplan modules, lists, hierarchies, dimensions, line items, versions, and time structures.
Work with Anaplan Model Builders to understand model changes and determine downstream integration impacts.
Modify integration-specific views and exports where required.
Python Development & Automation
Maintain and enhance existing Python-based integration components.
Develop Python scripts for:
o API integration
o Data extraction
o Transformation
o Validation
o Reconciliation
o BigQuery processing
o File processing
o Automation
Debug and modify existing Python code.
Develop reusable utilities for new integration requirements.
Improve error handling, logging, monitoring, and operational automation.
Optimize existing code for performance and maintainability.
BigQuery Enhancements
Maintain and enhance existing BigQuery datasets, tables, and views.
Develop and modify BigQuery SQL based on new business requirements.
Support changes to:
o Data mappings
o Transformation rules
o Source attributes
o Business hierarchies
o Planning measures
o Historical data
Troubleshoot data discrepancies between Anaplan and BigQuery.
Optimize queries and integration processing where required.
Custom Application Integration
Work with custom application engineering teams consuming data through BigQuery.
Understand new application data requirements and determine changes required in the existing integration.
Maintain existing interface and data contracts.
Ensure Anaplan changes do not inadvertently break downstream applications.
Support the addition of new attributes, dimensions, measures, and datasets required by consuming applications.
Participate in end-to-end testing across Anaplan, BigQuery, and downstream applications.
Production Support & Troubleshooting
Investigate production data and integration issues.
Perform root-cause analysis across:
o Anaplan
o Python integration layer
o BigQuery
o Downstream applications
Resolve failed jobs, incomplete loads, data mismatches, and interface errors.
