IT Asset Management (ITAM) AnalystPosition OverviewThis role supports all phases of the enterprise IT Asset Management (ITAM) lifecycle, ensuring the organization is equipped with the necessary hardware, software, and operational technology (OT) assets. Responsibilities include managing assets from procurement through deployment, maintenance, and eventual decommissioning. The position also supports vendor relationships, contract administration, and execution of ITAM processes across multiple initiatives.
Key ResponsibilitiesAsset Lifecycle Management- Coordinate procurement, deployment, maintenance, and decommissioning of IT and OT assets
- Manage warranties, service agreements, and vendor partnerships
- Assist with lifecycle planning, including forecasting replacement cycles and end-of-support timelines
Inventory & Data Management- Maintain and support automated IT/OT asset inventory systems
- Clean, validate, and reconcile asset data to ensure accuracy and compliance with data standards
- Manage documentation repositories, including system architecture, configurations, and compliance requirements
Compliance & Reporting- Monitor asset compliance across systems, including OS/firmware, software versions, and lifecycle status
- Identify non-compliant assets and document remediation actions
- Generate recurring reports on compliance, lifecycle status, and cost forecasting
- Develop dashboards and metrics to track asset health and lifecycle positioning
- Support audits and conduct regular inventory reviews
Software Asset Management & Licensing- Track software licensing and installations across environments
- Ensure accurate license records within asset management systems
- Assist with cost forecasting and optimization for software assets
Procurement & Vendor Management- Maintain contract repositories for software and leased hardware
- Optimize purchasing through vendor agreements, discounts, and incentives
- Collaborate with internal teams to fulfill project-related hardware and software needs
- Act as a point of contact for remote locations regarding asset allocation and support internal chargeback processes
Mergers & Acquisitions Support- Assist with consolidation of accounts and transfer of assets during integration activities
Documentation & Governance- Maintain up-to-date documentation and version control
- Develop and refine processes for procurement, asset maintenance, and decommissioning
- Support implementation of ITAM best practices and governance standards
Required QualificationsEducation & Experience- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Procurement, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2-5 years of experience in IT asset management, procurement, or related environment
Core Skills- Working knowledge of ITAM frameworks, tools, and best practices
- Experience with asset management systems and databases
- Strong organizational and task management skills
- Analytical ability to interpret data and improve asset accuracy and reporting
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear documentation
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities
- Demonstrated customer service mindset
Technical Experience- Experience with ServiceNow (Hardware Asset Management and/or Software Asset Management modules preferred)
- Familiarity with software licensing and compliance tracking
Additional Information- Certification(s) in ITAM or related areas may be required during employment
