Data Center Technician - Sterling, VALocation: Sterling, Virginia
Schedule:- Training (First 3 Weeks): 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM, four 10-hour shifts per week
- Night Shift (Post-Training): 8:30 PM - 7:00 AM, Sun-Wed or Wed-Sat (four 10-hour shifts)

Data Center Technicians to join a rapidly growing team in Sterling, VA. This role is ideal for individuals who excel in hands-on technical work, hardware troubleshooting, and fast-paced operational environments.
About the RoleAs a Data Center Technician, you will serve as a primary resolver for hardware-related issues within the data center. Your responsibilities will focus heavily on
break/fix support, diagnosing failures, and replacing critical components to maintain uptime and operational stability.
You will work both independently and as part of a team, supporting hardware, network connectivity, documentation, and small-scale project tasks. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to follow established procedures, and comfort working under immediate supervision.
Key Responsibilities- Perform break/fix troubleshooting on servers experiencing hardware or firmware issues
- Diagnose failures and replace components such as:
- Motherboards
- CPUs
- Power supplies (PSUs)
- Network interface cards (NICs)
- Memory modules
- Test and troubleshoot fiber optic cabling
- Conduct systematic isolation testing to identify points of failure
- Install, rack, and cable equipment within the data center
- Document work performed and maintain accurate records
- Support hardware and network diagnostics and physical repairs
- Participate in an on-call rotation as needed
- Collaborate with team members to resolve complex issues and share knowledge
Basic Qualifications- 0-3 years of experience in data center operations, hardware support, or related technical field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively under pressure
- Basic understanding of computer hardware and networking concepts
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined or elevated spaces
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass a back-ground check
- Willingness to work night shift after training
Preferred Qualifications- Knowledge of Linux operating systems
- Advanced understanding of computer hardware and troubleshooting
- Experience with fiber optics, structured cabling, or physical layer infrastructure
- Ability to automate tasks using scripts (optional but beneficial)

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Sterling, VA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.50 - $25.00/hr.
