Location: Cranston, RI / Narragansett Indian Tribe Area - Hybrid (Approximately 3 Days Onsite / 2 Days Remote)
Duration: Long-Term Contract - Potential Extension for Up to 4 Years
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the implementation of initiatives funded through a Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP).
The Project Manager will coordinate day-to-day project activities, maintain project plans and schedules, track milestones and deliverables, facilitate stakeholder communication, and support the successful implementation of approved program initiatives.
This role will serve as a key liaison among Tribal leadership, community partners, government stakeholders, vendors, and program partners. The successful candidate must demonstrate respect for Tribal sovereignty, governance, culture, and community priorities while effectively coordinating complex projects and diverse stakeholder groups.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate implementation of RHTP-funded projects and initiatives in collaboration with Tribal leadership and project partners.
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, timelines, milestones, action-item logs, and implementation trackers.
- Monitor project status, deliverables, dependencies, risks, issues, and potential barriers.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and support timely resolution of project issues.
- Coordinate and facilitate project meetings with Tribal leadership, community organizations, government stakeholders, vendors, and other partners.
- Maintain clear and effective communication across multiple organizations and stakeholder groups.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Document project activities, accomplishments, deliverables, milestones, and performance measures.
- Prepare project status reports, presentations, meeting materials, and program documentation.
- Coordinate technical assistance and connect project teams with appropriate program resources.
- Support community engagement activities and ensure Tribal perspectives and priorities are appropriately incorporated into project implementation.
- Assist with procurement, contracting, vendor coordination, and related administrative activities.
- Track action items and follow up with stakeholders to ensure commitments and deadlines are met.
- Support implementation of program work plans, objectives, and deliverables.
- Ensure project activities are conducted in accordance with applicable Tribal, state, and program requirements.
- Identify and communicate project risks, delays, dependencies, and resource needs.
- Perform additional project management and coordination activities as required.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience managing or coordinating complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.
- Strong project planning, coordination, organization, and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong meeting facilitation and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, deliverables, and dependencies simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently while coordinating activities across multiple organizations.
- Experience developing and maintaining project plans, schedules, status reports, trackers, presentations, and related documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
- Experience with project management, collaboration, or workflow management tools.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Tribal governments, Indigenous communities, or culturally diverse populations.
- Knowledge or experience in public health, healthcare, behavioral health, human services, or community development programs.
- Experience supporting government-funded programs or public-sector initiatives.
- Experience with procurement, contracting, grants, or administrative processes.
- Familiarity with program implementation, performance measurement, and community engagement.
- Experience working with state agencies, government organizations, or public-sector stakeholders.
- Experience coordinating projects involving multiple community or organizational partners.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an organized and collaborative Project Manager who can manage competing priorities, maintain detailed project documentation, facilitate stakeholder communication, and drive follow-up on milestones and deliverables. Experience in public-sector, healthcare, community development, or Tribal environments is highly valued.
