Job DetailsJob Details:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Permanent Estimator for Structural Steel in the Construction Industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for our structural steel projects. This will involve analyzing blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates. The candidate will be working closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure that all estimates are accurate and competitive. This is a full-time permanent position with a competitive salary and benefits package.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare detailed cost estimates for structural steel construction projects, considering raw materials, labor, equipment, tools, and transportation.
2. Review and evaluate cost estimates to ensure accuracy and completeness.
3. Work with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand the scope of work and produce accurate estimates.
4. Use Tekla EPM to manage and control project information and documentation.
5. Conduct risk analysis to identify and mitigate potential challenges.
6. Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress reports, and cost tracking reports.
7. Keep up to date on industry trends and advancements in technology.
8. Comply with all safety rules and regulations.
9. Participate in proposal preparation and client presentations.
10. Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and contractors to ensure competitive pricing.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural steel estimating or similar role in the construction industry.
3. Proficiency in Tekla EPM is a must.
4. Strong understanding of AISC standards and guidelines.
5. Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
6. Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
7. Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
8. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
9. Strong organizational and project management skills.
10. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
11. Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Excel and Project.
12. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
