Description:
Diversified Systems is searching for a Java Developer to provide independent advanced analysis, design, development, enhancements, implementation, and support to ensure the efficient and effective operation of complex software. This position acts as a subject matter expert for Oracle Commerce Cloud and related subsystems.
The position provides daily operational support for Oracle Commerce Cloud (OCC) and extranet environments, including configuration of Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC). Development of other special projects will be assigned as needed.
The primary responsibility of this position is development within the various Oracle systems utilized. This development may be performed individually or as part of a team, depending on the complexity of the project.
Responsibilities:
- Provide independent advanced analysis, design, development, enhancements, implementation, and support to ensure efficient and effective operation of complex software.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for Oracle Commerce Cloud and the related subsystems.
- Provide daily operational support for Oracle Commerce Cloud (OCC) and extranet environments.
- Configure Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC).
- Perform development within the various Oracle systems utilized.
- Review defects and requests received from the business.
- Analyze existing code and plan and design solutions.
- Develop and debug code.
- Conduct testing before submitting changes to the business for User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Document work within the code and in the agency's change management system.
- Research and evaluate requested or mandated enhancements and integrations with other systems.
- Determine the viability of products and communicate observations to staff with varying levels of technical expertise.
- Integrate selected systems into the Oracle Suite, including required programming changes.
- Participate in peer reviews of development work.
- Review code changes completed by other team members when necessary.
- Adhere to agency Change Management guidelines.
- Document and communicate system changes during reviews.
- Develop level-of-effort estimates for business requests for service or enhancements.
- Document and present estimates to IT and business leadership for prioritization.
- Test system changes for accuracy before code is moved to the next environment.
- Correct and retest documented defects before returning changes to the business for additional User Acceptance Testing.
- Support nonproduction environments used for testing.
- Progress code and changes through the appropriate environments.
- Maintain testing environments in a clean state.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for supported systems, integrations, development tools, processes, policies, and the code base.
- Evaluate business requests to change packaged and customized application software, including Oracle Commerce Cloud.
- Advise functional management on the most efficient technical solution.
- Provide individual, project, performance, and training status reports to the group manager.
- Identify project progress and deviations from objectives.
- Assist in the assessment of software products and make recommendations for purchase to meet organizational and Commonwealth objectives.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting, investigation, and debugging of problems and defects in supported systems.
- Research reported problems, document input and findings in tickets, and develop proposed solutions.
- Perform maintenance activities as needed, including stopping and restarting jobs.
- Restart integrations between systems and perform system monitoring.
- Perform maintenance activities outside regular business hours when required.
- Monitor system performance and identify operational deficiencies related to program execution.
- Recommend and implement solutions and remedial actions to ensure acceptable performance.
- Cooperate with other developers and IT staff to provide security and quality assurance measures, including backup, recovery, data security, error handling, and system controls.
- Adhere to established bureau, Commonwealth, and industry standards, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain proper testing documentation in all environments.
- Apply security policies and procedures to development activities.
- Comply with Payment Card Industry (PCI) standards and ecommerce team standards.
- Assist in establishing standards, guidelines, and acceptable customer service levels relating to web applications.
- Document design decisions, requirements, level-of-effort estimates, and related information.
- Develop documentation with other IT staff and business end users.
- Perform other related job duties as needed.

- 2 years of HTML/CSS experience required.
- 2 years of SQL experience required.
- 2 years of XML/JSON experience required.
- 2 years of JavaScript experience required.
- 2 years of Java experience required.
- 2 years of Open Storefront Framework experience required.
- 2 years of MongoDB experience required.
- Experience with Oracle SQL Developer required.
- Experience with DevOps required.
- Experience with Visual Studio required.
