SAP MDG Material Master / Siemens Opcenter MOM Consultant

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced SAP MDG Material Master / Siemens Opcenter MOM Consultant with strong hands-on expertise in Siemens Opcenter MOM, specifically the Opcenter Execution Discrete module, to support manufacturing execution and digital manufacturing initiatives.

The ideal candidate will combine strong MES / MOM technical and functional expertise with experience in complex discrete manufacturing environments. Experience in the Aerospace industry is highly preferred.

The consultant will work closely with customer stakeholders, manufacturing sites, MES COE teams, product teams, and interfacing application teams to design, develop, implement, support, and continuously improve Siemens Opcenter-based manufacturing solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Siemens Opcenter MOM / MES

• Design, implement, configure, and support Siemens Opcenter MOM/MES solutions.
• Provide hands-on development within Opcenter Execution Discrete.
• Work with Siemens MOM technologies including:
• Opcenter EX FN
• APS
• MOM Connect
• IPL
• Mendix
• Analyze manufacturing requirements and translate them into scalable Opcenter solutions.
• Develop customizations and extensions within the Opcenter platform.
• Provide technical and product guidance to development and support teams.
• Support manufacturing execution applications across production environments.

Solution Design & Techno-Functional Analysis

• Work directly with customer stakeholders to understand business and manufacturing requirements.
• Perform techno-functional analysis and impact assessments for new requirements and changes.
• Design efficient and optimized solutions for complex manufacturing problems.
• Translate solution requirements into technical specifications for development teams.
• Review proposed solutions and provide technical recommendations.
• Support implementation, upgrades, enhancements, and new Opcenter capabilities.

Discrete Manufacturing

• Apply strong understanding of discrete manufacturing business processes.
• Support complex assembly manufacturing environments.
• Work with manufacturing sites to understand and contextualize shop-floor operations.
• Support manufacturing and business processes through MES/MOM solutions.
• Understand closed-loop manufacturing concepts involving PLM, ERP, and MES.
• Support digital manufacturing initiatives and manufacturing transformation programs.

Integration & Connectivity

• Design and support integrations between Opcenter and enterprise applications.
• Work with:
• APIs
• Middleware
• Messaging Queues
• Enterprise Integration Patterns
• Support OPC-UA and PLC/SCADA interfaces.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing-system integration and communication issues.
• Support data flow between MES/MOM, ERP, PLM, and shop-floor systems.

Production Support & ITSM

• Manage production incidents and application support activities.
• Participate in:

• Change Management
• Perform root-cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Support application availability, stability, and performance.
• Ensure compliance with established SLAs and operational KPIs.
• Coordinate escalations with product and interfacing application teams.

Governance & Reporting

• Participate in periodic governance meetings.
• Prepare and maintain operational and management reports.
• Track application performance, incidents, SLA adherence, and KPIs.
• Identify operational risks and proactively address potential issues.
• Maintain application and process documentation.

Team & Customer Management

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to team members.
• Coordinate activities across development, support, manufacturing, and product teams.
• Work closely with customer stakeholders and manufacturing sites.
• Provide knowledge transfer and mentoring.
• Support team management and project management activities.
• Communicate technical concepts and solutions clearly to customers and non-technical stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes and application performance.
• Recommend and implement process improvements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across MES and digital manufacturing.
• Coordinate with the MES Center of Excellence (COE) and Digital Manufacturing teams.
• Contribute to modernization, upgrades, and new manufacturing technology initiatives.
