Summary

Assured Information Security (AIS) has an opening for a SME Software Quality Assurance Engineer/Tester will support government system testing activities by developing, executing, and documenting comprehensive software test plans, identifying defects, and coordinating with engineering and program personnel to ensure high-quality system performance. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong communication skills, and the ability to lead test processes on behalf of government stakeholders.

*This is an onsite position located in Columbia, MD and requires a TS/SCI w/CI Poly*

What You'll Do:
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute test events, ensuring all activities are properly advertised, and stakeholders understand event schedules and requirements.
  • Prepare and execute comprehensive test plans and conduct Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs) with both internal and external organizations ahead of scheduled test events.
  • Define and oversee Developmental Test & Evaluation (DT&E), Operational Test & Evaluation (OT&E), and Cyber Test & Evaluation (Cyber T&E) processes within the Program Management Office (PMO).
  • Ensure all DT&E and OT&E activities align with customer mandates and are properly integrated into the overarching test strategy and individual test plans.
  • Provide test-focused recommendations for acquisition contracts and ensure test-related requirements are enforced during contract execution.
  • Conduct functional, regression, integration, and system-level testing as required.
  • Document defects, test results, and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, cybersecurity, and program personnel to ensure system requirements are met.
  • Lead and facilitate test-related meetings, reviews, and workflow processes.
  • Maintain documentation and traceability in accordance with government and program standards.
  • Support continuous improvement of QA/T&E methodologies within the team.

Education/Experience/Skillset Required:
  • Master's degree and 15 years of experience, or Bachelor's degree and 18 years of experience, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Relevant fields include Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security, and Systems Engineering.
  • Experience in software development and Object-Oriented Programming.
  • Experience executing QA and/or T&E for government systems.
  • Experience generating test plans, managing test cases, and reporting results of test events.
  • Ability to own, conduct, and document test-related processes, meetings, and workflows on behalf of government stakeholders.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to both engineering teams and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience using Atlassian products (or similar tools).

What Sets You Apart:
  • DAWIA Test and Evaluation Practitioner.
  • QA and/or T&E experience within DoD/DoW system acquisitions.
  • Familiarity with cyber systems, especially defensive cyber capabilities.
  • Ability to reference and apply federal policy to team processes.
  • Administrative-level experience with Atlassian products (or similar) within engineering environments.

US Salary Range: $150,000 - $215,000
The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on several factors including location, skills, and experience. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package which includes employer paid health insurance and a 7% contribution to your 401k, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation.
