Job Title: Database Architect
Location: New York City, NY / New Jersey, NJ (Onsite)
Job Type: Contract (W2 & H1B Transfer Workable)

Job Description:
Database Lead/Architect to design, govern, optimize, and modernize enterprise data platforms across SQL and NoSQL technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for database architecture, performance tuning, scalability, security, cloud data platforms, and data modernization initiatives while providing technical leadership to development and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement enterprise-scale database architectures supporting high-volume transactional and analytical workloads.
  • Lead database modernization, migration, and cloud transformation initiatives.
  • Define data modeling standards, governance policies, and database best practices.
  • Architect high-availability, disaster recovery, backup, and replication solutions.
  • Optimize database performance through indexing, partitioning, query tuning, and capacity planning.
  • Partner with application, data engineering, DevOps, and infrastructure teams on solution design.
  • Establish database security, compliance, and data protection standards.
  • Lead troubleshooting of production database issues and performance bottlenecks.
  • Mentor DBAs, developers, and data engineers on best practices and architecture standards.
