Data Governance Lead - Healthcare / Public Sector Data ModernizationWe are seeking an experienced
Data Governance Lead to provide strategic leadership for enterprise data modernization initiatives in a
highly regulated healthcare or public-sector environment. This role owns the
frameworks, standards, and operating models that ensure data is accurate, secure, interoperable, and trusted for analytics, reporting, and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities- Define and maintain enterprise data governance frameworks, policies, and standards (data quality, metadata, access, privacy, lifecycle management)
- Establish minimum documentation and metadata requirements for datasets in cloud data platforms (e.g., lineage, definitions, refresh cadence, access rules)
- Ensure governance is embedded into cloud data platforms, pipelines, and analytics tools, not treated as an afterthought
- Partner with legal, privacy, and security teams to align governance with HIPAA and applicable regulations
- Enable data standardization and reuse through reference data, shared mappings, and governed transformations
- Act as a liaison between business, analytics, IT, and engineering teams, translating governance concepts into actionable guidance
- Support change management, training, and communication to drive adoption of governance standards
Required Experience- 7+ years in data governance, data management, health informatics, or enterprise data roles
- Demonstrated experience establishing or leading data governance programs in healthcare, government, or other regulated environments
- Strong understanding of data lifecycle management, metadata, and data quality practices
- Experience working with cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) in governed environments
- Ability to influence across technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Experience- Healthcare, Medicaid, public health, or public-sector data experience
- Familiarity with public-sector data modernization initiatives or interoperability standards
- Experience with metadata management tools, data catalogs, or governance platforms

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $86.00 - $86.00/hr.
