Job Description:
Data Architect
Position Summary
We are seeking a Data Architect with strong expertise in Power BI, SQL-based data
modeling, and Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) integrations. This role will design and
manage the end-to-end data ecosystem from source system mapping, data
transformations, and semantic modeling to optimized dashboard delivery. The architect
will ensure that business reporting is reliable, scalable, and aligned with enterprise data
governance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Power BI Architecture & Reporting Enablement
Design and maintain Power BI semantic models, datasets, and dataflows to support
enterprise reporting.
Define and enforce best practices for dataset versioning, workspace structure,
row-level security (RLS), refresh schedules, and enterprise-certified datasets.
Partner with business teams to translate reporting requirements into optimized data
models and visual structures.
Review and optimize existing Power BI dashboards to improve performance,
usability, and governance.
Data Mapping & SQL Development
Lead the creation and maintenance of source-to-target data mapping between
operational systems, SQL databases, and the EDP.
Develop and optimize SQL views, stored procedures, and transformation logic to
support analytical and reporting workloads.
Ensure data lineage documentation is complete and accurate throughout the
pipeline.
Collaborate with data engineers to validate that ETL/ELT jobs align with architectural
and mapping standards.
Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) Integration
Architect data ingestion and transformation pipelines within the EDP environment
(e.g., Azure Data Lake, Databricks, or internal enterprise platforms).
Define standards for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data storage
within the EDP.
Work with platform teams to establish governance, security rules, and metadata
practices within the EDP.
Ensure EDP assets (tables, curated zones, gold layers, semantic models) support
enterprise reporting requirements.
Data Governance & Quality
Maintain strong governance over data models, dictionaries, and metadata.
Establish validation rules to ensure accuracy and consistency of data used for
Power BI reporting.
Support audits, compliance requests, and security controls by ensuring proper data
classification and access management.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Work closely with stakeholders, dashboard developers, data engineers, and Power
BI SMEs to align data architecture with business priorities.
Communicate complex data concepts in clear, non-technical language when
working with business stakeholders.
Participate in design reviews, technical assessments, and planning new reporting
initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or
related field.
5+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or BI development.
Advanced proficiency in SQL development and relational data modeling.
Hands-on experience with Power BI datasets, dataflows, DAX, and performance
optimization.
Strong understanding of EDP concepts, such as data lake zones, ingestion patterns,
and curated layers.
Experience building end-to-end data pipelines aligning Power BI with SQL
databases and enterprise data platforms.

Strong SQL & data modeling expertise
Power BI semantic layer architecture
Data mapping & lineage documentation
EDP ingestion and transformation logic
ETL/ELT pipeline design
Data governance & security frameworks
Analytical and problem-solving ability
Clear communication across technical and business teams
