About the Role

As an Electrical Engineer in our Advanced Manufacturing group, you will contribute to projects that enable the successful engineering, design, and construction of data center facilities and other mission-critical infrastructure. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex projects involving electrical systems design for advanced manufacturing environments, data centers, and industrial facilities.

This role is fully remote and not required to be based in a Jacobs office. However, employees who prefer an office environment may utilize one of Jacobs'' offices located throughout the United States.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering and design of medium and low-voltage electrical distribution systems for data centers and mission-critical facilities.
  • Design facility power distribution systems, UPS systems, emergency power systems, grounding, lighting, and low-voltage communications systems.
  • Develop electrical designs for new construction as well as retrofit projects supporting evolving client requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to establish project requirements and produce construction documentation.
  • Conduct quality reviews of design packages and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Support project execution by interacting directly with clients, owners, and contractors during design and construction phases.
  • Assist in managing project quality, scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other electrical engineers.
  • Contribute to a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative project environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in engineering design of:
    • Medium and low-voltage distribution systems.
    • Building electrical systems.
    • Campus-style power distribution systems, including conveyance.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License required.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in industrial facility design.
  • Working knowledge of Revit and/or BIM software.
  • Strong understanding of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code - NEC).
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer literacy.
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and take on new challenges.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team of Electrical Engineers.
  • Experience supporting Data Center or AI Factory projects.

  • Minimum 3 years of data center facility design experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Forward-thinking mindset with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and expand technical knowledge.
  • Strong collaboration skills with experience working on multidisciplinary teams.
  • Passion for buildings, construction, and infrastructure development.
  • Experience designing large-scale projects on greenfield sites.
