Senior Embedded Software Engineer

Location: Remote U.S. West Coast Preferred

Key Win Factors:

• Ex-Philips resources preferred, especially Ultrasound / IGTD.
• Hands-on Philips Ultrasound software experience.
• Familiarity with ACE Embedded Software / ACE Library.
• Strong IVUS / Ultrasound / Medical Imaging domain expertise.
• Relevant Philips ultrasound domain experience will outweigh generic embedded software experience.

Job Description:

• Own embedded software work packages and deliver outcomes with limited supervision.
• Create and maintain software designs, interface specifications, implementation plans, and engineering documentation.
• Develop and maintain Windows-based C/C++ software for embedded and hardware-interfacing applications.
• Integrate software with electronics, PCBA, FPGA, embedded processors, peripheral devices, and low-level communication libraries.
• Support signal acquisition and data-conversion workflows used in medical imaging.
• Develop manufacturing test software, inline test fixtures, diagnostic utilities, and automated test capabilities.
• Perform software integration, debugging, defect resolution, root-cause analysis, and technical risk mitigation.
• Ensure backward compatibility and controlled migration when hardware components or interfaces are replaced.
• Collaborate with Systems, Electronics, FPGA, Manufacturing, Verification, Quality, and Program teams.
• Provide concise status reporting covering progress, risks, dependencies, decisions, and recovery actions.
• Prepare technical documentation, training material, walkthroughs, and knowledge-transfer sessions.

• Structured knowledge-transfer planning

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor s or master s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
• Senior-level embedded software, medical-device software, medical imaging, or closely related product-engineering experience.
