Role Overview

Are you a "developer-first" professional with a deep mastery of the SAP BTP ecosystem? We are seeking an SAP BTP & Ariba SBN Extension Developer to lead a critical modernization initiative.

In this role, you will be responsible for refactoring residual custom functionality from legacy .NET and Liferay-based supplier portals into a modern, cloud-native architecture. Your work will bridge the gap where out-of-the-box Ariba CRE/SCC capabilities end, ensuring a seamless, unified experience for our global supplier network.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect & Build: Design and develop SAP BTP extensions and side-by-side applications to modernize legacy portal features.
• Integrate: Develop robust integrations between SAP BTP and Ariba SBN using SAP Integration Suite (Cloud Integration / API Management).
• Modernize UX: Leverage SAP Build Work Zone to create a unified frontend spanning Ariba SBN and BTP-hosted components.
• Secure: Implement RBAC, security, and identity federation using SAP BTP IAS and IPS.
• Collaborate: Partner with cross-functional leads to define integration contracts, shared data models, and event-driven patterns.
• Document & Mentor: Produce high-quality technical design documents and API specs, while providing knowledge transfer to internal BTP engineering teams.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: 5+ years in enterprise app development, with at least 3 years dedicated to SAP BTP (formerly SAP Cloud Platform).
• Development Stack: High proficiency in CAP (Cloud Application Programming Model), SAP Build Apps, or equivalent frameworks.
• Integration: Hands-on experience with SAP Integration Suite (CPI) for building iFlows, APIs, and event-driven integrations.
• Ariba Knowledge: Working familiarity with Ariba Supplier Business Network (SBN), including cXML document flows and Network APIs.
• Frontend: Strong skills in modern web development (React, Angular, or equivalent) for BTP-hosted extensions.
• Identity Management: Proven experience with IAS, XSUAA, and Destination Service.
• Cloud Native: Familiarity with Git-based source control, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps within SAP BTP.

Preferred Qualifications

• Specialization: Experience building side-by-side extensions within Ariba Guided Buying or custom tabs.
• Advanced Tooling: Exposure to SAP Build Work Zone (Launchpad Service) and SAP Event Mesh/Event Broker.
• Data: Experience operating PostgreSQL at scale (Cloud SQL) or schema migrations.
• Certification: SAP Certified Development Associate – SAP BTP.
• Industry: Experience within Aerospace, Defense, or highly regulated environments (HIPAA/PHI/ITAR).
