Network Engineer

Education: A bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field,

Certifications: Certifications in the field

Required Experience:

1.      IT work experience in infrastructure/network environments performing network engineering (hardware and software), design, planning, and implementation

2.      Experience working in a large (2,500 users or more) enterprise network environment;

3.      Experience as a lead technician with the responsibility of cross-training team members

4.      Experience deploying, troubleshooting, and maintaining Local Area Networks (LAN);

5.      Experience deploying, troubleshooting, and maintaining Wide Area Networks (WAN)

6.      Experience deploying, troubleshooting, and maintaining Amazon Web Services/Microsoft (MS) Experience deploying, troubleshooting, and maintaining Azure cloud instances;

7.      Experience deploying, troubleshooting, and maintaining Voice over Internet Protocol (IP);

8.      Experience deploying, troubleshooting, and maintaining Quality of Service (QoS);

9.      Experience deploying, troubleshooting, and maintaining Jitter;

10.  Experience deploying, troubleshooting, and maintaining Latency issues;

11.  Experience deploying, troubleshooting, and maintaining Software defined-WAN;

12.  Experience deploying, troubleshooting, and maintaining Velo Cloud;

13.  Experience deploying, troubleshooting, and maintaining Cradle Point;

14.  Experience deploying, troubleshooting, and maintaining Routers;

15.  Experience deploying, troubleshooting, and maintaining Virtual Private Networks Experience deploying, troubleshooting, and maintaining (VPN);

16.  Experience deploying, troubleshooting, and maintaining Next Generation Firewalls (NGFW);

17.  Experience deploying, troubleshooting, and maintaining Wireless Access Points;

18.  Experience deploying, troubleshooting, and maintaining Load balancers in cloud platforms;

19.  Experience deploying, troubleshooting, and maintaining ExpressRoute and Direct Connect connections;

20.  Experience deploying, troubleshooting, and maintaining Amazon Virtual Private Cloud and Azure Virtual Network peering; and

21.  Experience deploying, troubleshooting, and maintaining Native cloud and 3rd party virtual firewalls (including installation and support);

22.  Experience Maintaining simultaneous encryption protocols, including Dynamic and Static Internet Protocol Security (IPSEC), Group Encrypted Transport Visual Power Manager (GETTVPN), Dynamic Multipoint VPN (DMVPN);

23.  Experience designing and deploying Network Access Control via Aruba ClearPass;

24.  Experience with managing Aruba Airwave;

25.  Experience using command-line configuration with Cisco, HP Aruba, and Linux;

26.  Experience in programming in Python and PowerShell scripting.

Preferred Experience:

1.      Experience at configuring and applying best practices to Next-Generation firewalls (NGFWs), including Palo Alto;

2.      Knowledge of Cacti, Nagios, Solar Winds, Wireshark, and Internet Performance Working Group (IPRF);

3.      Experience configuring and troubleshooting HP/ Aruba switches and Cisco routers;

4.      Knowledge of mapping physical network layouts and logical data flows with MS Visio to ensure the design accurately meets customer needs;

5.      Knowledge of VoIP configurations;

6.      Experience with managing Aruba Central Mobility Controllers;

7.      Experience designing wireless networks with an emphasis on security, creating Heat Maps, creating RF channel plans, and troubleshooting interference issues;

8.      Experience with Linux system administration;

9.    Experience applying IT standards in a criminal justice environment;

10.  Experience working with MyFloridaNet (MFN2) configuration and design and the State Division of Telecommunications;

11.  Experience with Florida state government projects;

Experience with the Offender-Based Information System (OBIS) Modernization Project.
