Description

We are looking for an IT Support specialist to provide hands-on technical assistance for end users in West Chicago, Illinois. This contract opportunity with potential for a permanent role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving day-to-day technology issues, delivering strong customer service, and supporting a wide range of workplace devices and applications. The role will focus on maintaining reliable desktop and mobile computing environments while helping employees stay productive through timely troubleshooting and support.

Responsibilities:
Provide direct technical support for employees by diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and operating system issues across desktop and laptop environments.
Assist users with Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and other commonly used productivity tools.
Set up, configure, and deploy computers and related equipment for new employees, replacements, and ongoing business needs.
Support mobile technology by troubleshooting connectivity, application, and device issues on both Android and iOS platforms.
Maintain and resolve service desk tickets while documenting incidents, requests, solutions, and useful knowledge articles with clear detail.
Deliver deskside support for peripherals such as printers, scanners, and other end-user equipment to ensure consistent workplace functionality.
Use structured troubleshooting methods to identify root causes, apply effective fixes, and escalate more complex issues when needed.
Contribute to endpoint support activities, including device management tasks and participation in an on-call rotation as required.

Requirements

1-2 years of experience in IT support, or formal technical training in a help desk or desktop support setting.
Working knowledge of Windows operating systems and common end-user support practices.
Experience assisting users with Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and related applications.
Familiarity with computer hardware, software installations, system troubleshooting, and general support methodologies.
Hands-on experience supporting desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and other workplace peripherals.
Ability to support Android and iOS mobile devices in a business environment.
Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Experience with Active Directory, ITSM or service desk ticketing processes, and deskside support; macOS experience is a plus, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs is required.
