Job Description:
We are seeking a hands-on Support Engineer - Accessibility Compliance to perform manual accessibility assessments, support automated scanning processes, and help ensure our web and application experiences meet accessibility standards. The ideal candidate has 6+ years of experience in accessibility testing with a support engineering background and strong hands on expertise performing manual accessibility assessments aligned to WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA and MAS standards.

1) Strong expertise in manual accessibility testing aligned to WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA (keyboard navigation, screen reader testing, ARIA validation, color contrast analysis) and MAS
2) Proficiency with accessibility automation tools and scan result analysis (e.g., axe, Accessibility Insights, Siteimprove, Deque)
3) Experience logging, tracking, and managing accessibility findings in Azure DevOps, including structured test reporting and remediation validation
Certifications:
An accessibility certification such as IAAP CPACC or WAS is required.
Explain a typical day in the role.:
Review automated accessibility scan results and identify high-risk findings
- Investigate and troubleshoot scan failures, false positives, and configuration issues
- Perform manual accessibility testing (keyboard navigation, screen reader, color contrast, ARIA validation)
- Document findings clearly with reproducible steps and severity levels
- Meet with engineering teams to explain issues and remediation guidance
- Validate accessibility fixes and re-test remediated components
- Ensure automated scans are properly configured and executed on schedule
- Log accessibility findings in Azure DevOps and include them in test reports for tracking purposes
- Maintain and update the inventory of sites and applications in scope
- Track compliance status and update dashboards or reporting tools
- Provide hands-on support to teams completing required scans
- Monitor adherence to WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA standards
- Prepare concise status updates for stakeholders and compliance reviews
- Proactively identify gaps in coverage and recommend improvements
Candidate Requirements
- Conduct manual accessibility reviews of web properties and digital experiences (WCAG-based testing)
- Execute and troubleshoot automated accessibility scans using approved enterprise tools
- Review and manage the inventory of accessibility scanning tools and configurations
- Provide guidance and support to engineering teams to remediate accessibility findings
- Ensure scan results are accurate, actionable, and aligned to compliance requirements
- Track assessment results and help maintain reporting dashboards and documentation
- Strong technical knowledge of accessibility standards, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently across multiple teams.

Disqualifiers:
Candidates with job hopping (6 months or less in each role, gaps in history) and candidates that don't have the required certifications will not be eligible for the role. Additionally, weak communication skills are a disqualifier, as this role requires clear articulation, self-management, and frequent interaction across teams and organizations.
Best vs. Average:
The ideal resume would contain all the required hard skills to include having a relevant accessibility certification, 6+ years of experience, and the ability to go beyond pure accessibility testing by troubleshooting scan results, correlating issues across tools, and helping unblock teams.
