Our client seeks an Engineering Manager to provide hands-on technical leadership and deliver production-grade solutions on Azure using microservices and the .NET stack. The role embeds DevSecOps and compliance by default, champions AI-assisted engineering practices, and collaborates across architecture, security, application, infrastructure, and customer service teams. The Engineering Manager leads roadmap execution, ensures quality and readiness, and partners with stakeholders to align outcomes with organizational priorities while promoting values, team culture, and mission.

This is a full-time, permanent opportunity, offering a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package. Qualified applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis.

Salary: $145,000 - $185,000/ yr. w2

Responsibilities:
  • Own the team's technical roadmap and lead end-to-end architecture, development, and delivery for internal and external healthcare systems.
  • Act as the senior engineer by designing components, writing high-quality code, troubleshooting complex issues, and performing rigorous code reviews.
  • Build scalable, cloud-native solutions on Azure using microservices and the .NET stack while driving engineering excellence.
  • Drive adoption of AI-assisted coding, define secure and maintainable code review standards, and ensure sound engineering judgment.
  • Own engineering practices for AI-backed features including context and retrieval over organization data, evaluation and monitoring, PHI-safe prompting and logging, and human review points.
  • Collaborate with Product, Architecture, Cloud, Security, and other engineering teams to define integration strategies and solution blueprints.
  • Translate complex technical designs into clear communication for non-technical stakeholders and align outcomes with priorities.
  • Ensure adherence to HIPAA, PHI/PII-safe engineering, and healthcare interoperability requirements.
  • Implement secure design patterns, RBAC, data governance, encryption standards, and cloud compliance controls.
  • Apply DevSecOps principles across code, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure from the start.
  • Manage direct reports including hiring, training, supervising, mentoring, and removing barriers to meet goals.
  • Lead engineers in fast-paced environments with strong decision-making and a solution-first mindset.
  • Foster rapid prototyping and proof-of-concept culture with ownership focused on quality and maintainability.
  • Complete documentation accurately and timely, protect privacy, follow policies, and participate in required training and meetings.
  • Communicate workload and priorities, complete mandated training and screenings, and perform other duties as assigned.

Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum 10 years of object-oriented software development with C#, .NET Core, and React.js.
  • Minimum 4 years of supervisory experience with mentoring and team development.
  • Deep Azure experience including API Apps, Logic Apps, Functions, REST services, and Azure Cosmos DB.
  • Proven design and delivery of microservices at scale.
  • Demonstrated DevSecOps principles with security built into code, CI/CD, and cloud.
  • Automated testing discipline and experience designing REST APIs and solutions spanning multiple data sources.
  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted engineering tools and practices, including LLM-based tooling, code generation, and workflow automation.
  • Agile/Scrum experience with iterative development and rapid proof-of-concept delivery.
  • Leadership in a data-driven organization using reports and data to prioritize and manage people and projects.
  • Motivational leadership with the ability to remove barriers and meet goals.
  • Business process management with Camunda preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills with seniors, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to process accurate information timely, work independently, and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures and commitment to supporting vulnerable seniors.

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field required. Master's Degree preferred.
