The Sr. Software Engineer is a hands-on, forward deployed full-stack builder who turns prioritized business use cases into working software for our client's healthcare technology platforms, developing across front ends and back-end services. This role reports to the Engineering Manager. Working with business stakeholders, solution architects, and the Technical Product Management team, the Sr. Software Engineer identifies and defines business needs that require developed technology solutions to achieve business outcomes. Working within architecture standards and design patterns, this role is responsible for the development, quality assurance, implementation, and maintenance of solution components and applies AI-assisted engineering as everyday practice. This role leverages the agile life cycle for solutions deployment in all projects as well as objectively assessing quality and logistics production readiness. The Sr. Software Engineer collaborates effectively with colleagues and stakeholders to promote values, team culture, and mission.

Salary: $130,000 - $165,000/ yr. w2

Responsibilities:
  • Work across the full stack, developing React front ends and C#/.NET back-end services to develop, test, deploy, and maintain solution components that fulfill prioritized business use cases.
  • Re-write and re-engineer custom legacy applications using the Microsoft tech stack.
  • Apply AI-assisted engineering using LLMs, AI developer tooling, and automation to raise development velocity and quality and integrate AI-powered features.
  • Implement solutions following best practices, writing clean, maintainable, and reusable code with sound design patterns and documentation.
  • Develop design patterns and standards and participate in refactoring or new technology efforts, including research and communication of new patterns for team adoption.
  • Ensure automated unit, system, and regression testing coverage prior to launch, writing manual and automated test cases using NUnit.
  • Perform peer coding and design reviews with peer developers.
  • Conduct independent verification and validation through test case development and test plan execution to ensure production readiness.
  • Adhere to Agile DevOps processes, tools, and environments for requirements, design, construction, QA, version control, deployment, troubleshooting, and change management.
  • Apply DevSecOps principles to ensure security and data integrity aligned with PCI and HIPAA goals.
  • Execute deployment logistics and documentation and provide ongoing support, maintenance, monitoring, performance optimization, and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure solution architecture aligns with applicable regulations, policies, security protocols, and procedures.
  • Partner with product owners and designers in requirements discovery and usability sessions.
  • Work closely with technology and business partners to ensure proper testing, implementation, and documentation.
  • Create documentation on current software state and historical process accounts.
  • Complete required documentation accurately and on time and maintain privacy and confidentiality.
  • Follow policies and procedures, complete required training and screenings, and communicate with the supervisor and team regarding workload and priorities.
  • Exercise flexibility as business needs evolve and perform other duties as assigned.

Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum 10 years of object-oriented software development and maintenance using C#, .NET Core, and Razor Pages.
  • Full-stack development with React.js front ends and .NET back-end services.
  • Experience with Azure services such as Azure API Apps, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, and REST services.
  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted engineering tools and practices, including LLM-based tooling, code generation, and workflow automation.
  • Experience with NoSQL databases, namely Azure Cosmos DB.
  • Experience with REST APIs and integrating multiple data sources.
  • Experience writing automated unit, system, and regression tests using NUnit.
  • Strong DevSecOps principles with security embedded in code, CI/CD, and cloud.
  • Understanding of Azure Data Factory is a plus.
  • Understanding of Release Management principles in structured environments for managing release levels and deployments.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in fast-paced, collaborative, and team-based project environments.
  • Ability to process accurate information in a timely manner with strong organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Commitment to serving vulnerable seniors.

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent experience. Relevant professional experience may be substituted.
  • One or more Microsoft solutions certifications in solutions architecture preferred.
