Reliability Technician

ROLE SYNOPSIS

The Reliability Technician is responsible for supporting safe, reliable, and efficient field operations within the Permian business unit. This position works closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, contractor teams, and chemical service providers to troubleshoot,maintain, and improve the performance of production equipment and facility systems. The role focuses on reliability activities, both preventative and corrective, with an emphasis onidentifyingandeliminatingrepeat failures, supporting emissions reduction initiatives, improving equipment availability and performance, and providing field support for the asset?s chemical management program. This includes partnering with operations personnel and chemical vendors tooptimizechemical treatments,monitorfield performance,identifyimprovement opportunities, and support safe, cost-effective execution of corrosion, scale, paraffin, and flow assurance programs. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, adaptable individual with a growth mindset who enjoys a dynamic, hands-on, field-based work environment. Preference will be given to candidates with upstream onshore oil and gas experience, and experienceworkingclosely with chemical service providers is highly desirable.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Provide field execution support for chemical programs, including routine inspections of chemical injection equipment, validation of treatment performance, troubleshooting operational issues, coordinating with chemical service providers, and ensuring chemicals are applied safely, effectively, andin accordance withestablished operating requirements.

  • Respond to equipment breakdowns andparticipatein Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) investigations todetermineroot cause andeliminaterepeat failures.

  • Perform field-wide flare monitoring and repair flare systems, as well as field-wide tank pressure monitoring and repair upset conditions to mitigate greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

  • Serve as the single point of accountability for defect identification, validation, and corrective action execution associated with the Permian LDAR program and supplemental survey mechanisms, including fixed-wing quantification flights and continuous monitoring.

  • Perform preventative maintenance activities through the work management system and provide detailed feedback on completed work andidentifiedissues.

  • Perform corrective maintenanceutilizingtroubleshooting, analysis, problem solving, critical thinking, diagnostic, and reasoning skills.

  • Collaborate with Engineering and Operations teams to evaluate surface equipment reliability and pursue predictive maintenance opportunities.

  • Identifyand support implementation ofnew technologiesthat enhance facility availability, reliability, and operational capabilities.

  • Monitor equipment and systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient performance whilemaintainingfacility integrity.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.

  • Extensive experience in upstream, onshore oil and gas operations, with deep industry knowledge and a proventrack recordof operational excellence.

  • Experience with work management systems such as SAP,Cygnet, Scada,Enbase, or similar platforms.

  • Proficiencyworking with mechanical equipment and automation/instrumentation systems on upstream oil and gas facilities.

  • Experience working with rotating equipment, including pumps, gas-driven compressors, electric compressors, and related production equipment.

  • Experience working with contract labor crews.

  • Self-motivated individual who can deliveraccurate, quality work with minimal supervision.

  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Technical certification or vocational training in Mechanical Maintenance, Industrial Technology, Instrumentation, orrelatedfield.

  • Experience supporting reliability and maintenance programs in upstream oil and gas operations.

  • Knowledge of LDAR programs, emissions monitoring, and environmental compliance requirements.

  • Experience conducting RCFA investigations and implementing corrective actions.

  • Familiarity with predictive maintenance strategies and reliability improvement initiatives.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Dynamic, hands-on, field-based work environment supporting operations across the Permian Basin.

  • Frequent exposure to varying weather conditions, industrial work environments, and remote field locations.

  • Responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, andmaintainingpiping, separators, valves, storage tanks, chemical pumps, instrument air compressors, flare systems, and other production facility equipment.

  • Regular interaction with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, contractor personnel, and other business units to support reliability and operational priorities.

  • Participation in field-wide flare monitoring, tank pressure monitoring,emissionsreduction initiatives, and reliability improvement efforts.

  • Must be willing and able towork a 14 days on /14 daysoff rotational schedule and support operational needs asrequired.

Carrying Abilities:

  • Carry with 1 hand at self-selected height: 70lbsfora distance of 50feet x 2; self-paced and with a 60 second rest period between carry tests.

Stair / Ladder Climbing Abilities:

  • Stair Climb: Climb up and down a total of 30 steps, self-paced

  • Ladder Climb Test: Climb up and down 8 rungs, self-paced.

Agilities:

  • Stooping and Twisting: From standing, perform alternate toe touches x 3 to each side, self-paced but continuous. Test recipient should reach toward his/her toes on opposite side as far as possible but actual touching of toes notrequired

  • Kneeling: From standing, kneel on one knee, return to fullstandingand then kneel on opposite knee. Repeat kneeling test x 3, each knee, self-paced but continuous

  • Sustained Squatting: From standing, lower body into a functional squat position. Hold the squat position for 30 seconds and then stand.

  • Repetitive Squatting: Repeat squats x 3 reps, self-paced, no hold time at end range.

$95,000? $112,000
