Role Summary

The Salesforce CPQ Architect is a senior technical leader responsible for the end-to-end design and architectural integrity of the Quote-to-Cash (Q2C) process. This role bridges the gap between complex business requirements—such as intricate pricing models, subscription management, and product bundling—and scalable technical solutions within the Salesforce ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Architecture: Lead the technical design of Salesforce CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) and Billing solutions, ensuring they align with enterprise standards and long-term scalability.
Business Transformation: Partner with stakeholders (Sales Ops, Finance, Legal) to translate complex pricing strategies and discounting rules into functional CPQ features.
Product Modeling: Design sophisticated product catalogs, including nested bundles, configuration attributes, and product rules (Validation, Selection, Alert).
Pricing Engine Design: Architect complex pricing logic using Price Rules, Lookup Queries, and Custom Scripts (QCP) where out-of-the-box functionality is insufficient.
Integration Oversight: Define integration patterns between Salesforce CPQ and downstream systems like ERP (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) for order fulfillment and revenue recognition.
Governance & Best Practices: Establish coding standards for Apex/Triggers within the CPQ framework and manage environment strategy (Sandboxes, Data Migration, DevOps).
Technical Mentorship: Provide guidance to developers and business analysts, performing code reviews and architectural deep-dives.

Development	Proficiency in Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and the CPQ Quote Calculator Plugin (QCP).
Domain Knowledge	Strong understanding of Quote-to-Cash, Subscription Economy (SaaS), and Revenue Recognition principles.
Certifications	Salesforce Certified CPQ Specialist and Salesforce Certified Application/System Architect (highly preferred).
Integration	Experience with middleware (MuleSoft, Dell Boomi) and REST/SOAP APIs.
