Summary

Job Overview

The Supervisor, Engineering Quality is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and compliance of all engineering deliverables. This role leads quality assurance processes for engineering outputs including electrical drawings, layouts, cable schedules, and bills of materials (BOMs), while also establishing and maintaining engineering standards, workflows, and documentation. The position plays a key role in improving engineering execution, reducing rework, and enabling high-quality project delivery. The Supervisor, Engineering Quality, will report to the Sr Engineering Manager.

A Day In The Life

Engineering Quality Assurance
  • Review and verify engineering deliverables for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal and external standards.
  • Perform quality checks on: Electrical schematics and drawings, designs, diagrams and Bills of materials (BOMs)
  • Identify discrepancies, inconsistencies, and risks; drive corrective actions.
  • Establish quality checklists and review protocols for engineering outputs.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable codes, standards, and client specifications.
  • Assist the estimating team with specification reviews prior to proposal submittal for new customers.

Standards & Process Development
  • Develop, implement, and maintain engineering design standards and best practices.
  • Create and continuously improve:
    • Standard templates for drawings and documentation
    • Engineering workflows and review gates
    • Quality control processes and procedures
    • Standardize naming conventions, revision control, and documentation practices.
    • Documentation for addressing project scope changes
  • Promote consistency across projects and engineering teams.

Documentation & Management
  • Create and maintain onboarding documentation for cross function departments
  • Develop standards and training materials, process guides, and work instructions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Manage direct reports on objectives and initiatives determined for the Engineering Quality group.
  • Provide report outs on created metrics to demonstrate progress towards initiatives.
  • Responsible for managing Quality Engineers workload and ensure the team meets deliverable deadlines

Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support
  • Partner cross functionally to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to engineers on quality expectations and standards.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for engineering quality and documentation practices.
  • Support audits, client reviews, and internal quality initiatives.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's in Engineering related field
  • Minimum five plus years of experience in a similar environment

SKILLS
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities while maintaining high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proven skills in problem solving and product investigation
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis and data analysis tools
  • Ability to multitask given projects
  • Ability to act independently as a facilitator and team lead
