Java Developer/DevOps Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a experienced JAVA DevOps engineer to join our growing Equities business.  The platform you will be looking after is used by multiple trading desks servicing a diverse set of clients and instruments.  As part of the wider platform team you will be working closely business on Client setup, Post trade allocations flow.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Must have knowledge Equity products: Cash, Derivative Trading, Low Touch, high Touch, Algo, PT and DMA.
• Proven hands-on experience in Java programming is required.
• Work with vendors and in-house developers to deploy, upgrade and enhance systems the FIX engines and Drop copy flow.
• Must have an experience in FIX protocol and application, preferably ULLink client connectivity and order routing platform.
• Work closely with regional and global teams on understanding business needs / new business initiatives and defining proposed solution.
• Manage systems implementation and upgrade projects and liaise with system vendors on change requests.
• Co-ordinate and participant in system implementation, upgrade and enhancements testing.
• Handle ad-hoc FIX/connectivity change requests.
• Initiate new Client connectivity setup.
• Prepare application system flow, operation and user documentations.
• Managing projects / enhancements priorities and costs with stakeholders.
• Experience in equity front office IT space with strong application support skill
• Monitor application components.
• Evaluate current workflows to streamline operations, minimize manual effort, and improve scalability through TOIL reduction.
• Global support and includes weekend availability to troubleshoot production related issues and perform checkouts.
• Expertise in operating windows and Linux environment with good command over any scripting language such as Shell, Perl, Python, etc.
• Strong Knowledge of CI tools such Bamboo or Jenkins.
• Ability to work both independently and in groups in an energetic, diverse environment.
• Debugging the system and fixing the production related issues.
• Handles complex operational tasks and recommends process and technology changes.
• Escalate / follow-up on permanent fix for development related issues.
