Role Overview
We are seeking a Lead Technical Product Manager to join a team developing a next-generation HCM/Payroll platform. This role involves working with a team of product managers, designers, engineers, and data scientists to combine emerging technologies with industry expertise. The position requires comfort with ambiguity and the ability to work across technical, business, and design partners to clarify requirements, shape roadmap priorities, and build new HCM products.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in daily scrums to understand responsibilities, identify issues, and communicate priorities.
- Work with design and technical SMEs to write design briefs, document and prioritize product features, and break down user stories.
- Build relationships with varied stakeholders to drive progress and innovation with technical and non-technical partners.
- Define success metrics, measure product effectiveness, and report outcomes to drive priorities.
- Partner with internal or external vendors to fill product gaps and manage integrations.
- Own end-to-end requirements definition, producing detailed functional specifications for engineering execution.
- Communicate and defend ideas to internal and external stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
Experience: 5+ years of firsthand experience defining and delivering digital products with agile teams, including requirements discovery and documentation.
Technical Skills:- Experience working with data scientists and data engineers to ship software features powered by machine learning.
- Comfort with event-based architecture and scalable data models, with the ability to query databases if needed.
- Experience integrating GenAI / LLM tooling into professional workflows.
- Proficiency in project management tools such as Jira and Confluence for planning, documentation, and tracking.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience shipping features with GenAI capabilities.
- Experience launching products in highly regulated domains such as payroll, tax, HR, fintech, or healthcare.
Compensation
The anticipated pay rate for this position is between $50.00 and $56.00 per hour. The anticipated salary for permanent conversion is between $150,000.00 and $175,000.00 annually. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
