Description
We are looking for a skilled Technical Writer to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Canandaigua, New York. This role focuses on creating and maintaining high-quality technical documentation that supports users and enhances product understanding. You will collaborate with various teams to gather information and ensure content aligns with organizational standards.
Responsibilities:
Develop and update technical documents such as user guides, manuals, FAQs, and release notes to assist users in understanding products.
Work closely with engineers, product managers, and subject matter experts to collect, verify, and integrate technical details.
Structure and organize documentation to enhance clarity, usability, and consistency.
Ensure all materials meet quality standards, adhere to branding guidelines, and comply with accessibility requirements.
Regularly review and revise documentation to incorporate product updates and improvements.
Track and manage versions of technical content to maintain accuracy across releases.
Contribute to the creation and refinement of style guides and templates to uphold documentation best practices.
Identify opportunities to improve content delivery and support user needs effectively.
Requirements
Minimum of 2 years of experience in technical writing or a related field.
Strong proficiency in creating user-focused documentation, including manuals, guides, and FAQs.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineers and product managers.
Excellent organizational skills for structuring and managing content.
Familiarity with documentation standards, accessibility requirements, and quality assurance processes.
Experience with version control and content management systems.
Knowledge of technical writing tools and software.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey complex information clearly.
