Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Oracle Database Engineer with deep expertise in Oracle Exadata and strong application-side experience to lead large-scale database migrations and support critical production environments. This role requires hands-on involvement across migration planning, execution, and post-production support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end Oracle database migrations from traditional/VM environments to Exadata (on-prem / OCI / Database at Azure)

• Perform cutover planning, execution, and post-migration validation

• Administer and maintain Oracle databases (11g/12c/19c+), including RAC, ASM, Data Guard, patching, backup & recovery

• Monitor and optimize database performance, availability, and reliability

• Support application teams with connectivity validation, performance testing, and troubleshooting

• Ensure smooth production operations, including change management, outage coordination, and escalation handling

• Collaborate cross-functionally with DBA, infrastructure, and application teams

Required Skills & Expertise:

Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Exadata architecture, HA/DR, and performance tuning
Proven experience in Oracle database migrations (VM → Exadata) in enterprise environments
Expertise in Oracle client connectivity (JDBC, ODP.NET, OCI, TNS, DNS-based routing)
Deep understanding of application-to-database interactions
Experience supporting enterprise applications (Pega, middleware, portals, etc.)
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and post-migration validation processes

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
5+ years of experience in Oracle database engineering, migrations, and production support

Preferred Skills:

• Exposure to DB2, MS SQL Server, or other RDBMS

• Strong communication skills with ability to work across technical teams

• Experience in fast-paced, high-availability enterprise environments
