Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Oracle PL/SQL Developer to support enterprise application development, Oracle database programming, and data integration initiatives. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Oracle PL/SQL, database design, data modeling, data migration, data conversion, and web services integration.

The selected candidate will collaborate with data architects, database administrators, application support teams, and external vendors to develop, maintain, and optimize database solutions and integrations with vendor-hosted Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain Oracle database objects, including tables, views, indexes, triggers, and constraints.

  • Develop, enhance, debug, and optimize PL/SQL packages, stored procedures, and functions.

  • Utilize Oracle SQL Developer, Toad, or similar tools for database development, testing, debugging, and maintenance.

  • Support logical and physical data modeling, database normalization, and data architecture activities.

  • Perform data migration and conversion for application implementations, system upgrades, and integrations.

  • Develop and integrate SOAP and REST web services to facilitate data exchange between enterprise applications and vendor-hosted COTS solutions.

  • Conduct data analysis, data validation, data quality assessments, and metadata management to ensure data accuracy and integrity.

  • Develop and maintain ETL processes for data extraction, transformation, loading, and integration.

  • Collaborate with data architects and DBAs on code reviews, database performance tuning, and optimization.

  • Troubleshoot database issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective solutions.

  • Participate in technical design discussions, project planning, effort estimation, and technical documentation.

  • Provide ongoing database maintenance, application support, and integration assistance.


Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of Oracle PL/SQL development experience, including packages, stored procedures, and functions.

  • 8+ years of experience with Oracle development tools, such as Toad, Oracle SQL Developer, or similar tools.

  • 8+ years of Oracle database development experience, including designing, creating, and maintaining database objects.

  • 8+ years of experience in data modeling, including logical and physical data models and database normalization.

  • 8+ years of experience in data analysis and data quality, including metadata management.

  • 8+ years of experience developing and integrating SOAP and/or REST web services.

  • 8+ years of experience in database programming for data migration and conversion.

  • Experience supporting or integrating vendor-hosted applications and Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) solutions.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting enterprise applications and production environments.

  • Knowledge of ETL processes, data integrity, and database performance optimization.

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders, data architects, DBAs, and vendors.

  • Strong technical documentation and communication skills.


Work Arrangement

Hybrid position based in Lansing, Michigan, with on-site work required Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
