Role - Senior Technical Lead OMS Location - Seattle, WA / Vancouver Canada (Preferred) Start Date: Immediate Position Type: Full Time (Medical, 401K, PTO etc.)
Job Summary
Senior Technical Lead with strong expertise in Sterling OMS, Java Microservices, Kubernetes, and AWS Cloud-Native architecture. The ideal candidate will lead design and development initiatives, drive technical excellence, and guide engineering teams in delivering scalable, high-performance Order Management solutions.
This role requires hands-on technical leadership, strong problem-solving abilities, and experience working in distributed, cloud-based environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable solutions using Sterling OMS.
- Architect and develop Java-based microservices using Spring Boot or similar frameworks.
- Design and deploy containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS preferred).
- Develop and maintain cloud-native applications on AWS.
- Collaborate with architects to translate high-level designs into technical solutions.
- Lead code reviews, enforce best practices, and ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Implement API-driven and event-based integrations with upstream/downstream systems (ERP, WMS, CRM, eCommerce).
- Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Drive CI/CD implementation and DevOps best practices.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues and provide technical resolution.
- Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance to the team.
- Participate in sprint planning, estimation, and technical roadmap discussions.
Required Skills & Experience
- 8+ years of overall IT experience with 3+ years in technical lead roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Sterling OMS development and customization
- Java 8+ and Spring Boot microservices
- RESTful API development
- Kubernetes (EKS preferred)
- AWS services (EC2, EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, RDS, etc.)
- Experience with containerization (Docker).
- Knowledge of messaging systems (Kafka, IBM MQ, etc.).
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architecture.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar).
- Solid understanding of security, scalability, and performance tuning.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Retail, eCommerce, or Supply Chain domains.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
- Agile/Scrum experience.
Education
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Relevant cloud or technical certifications are a plus.
