We are seeking a Senior Expert in Microsoft Fabric with deep, hands-on experience in CI/CD pipeline implementation using Git within the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem. The selected resource will work directly use data platform staff to support a large-scale migration from Azure Synapse Analytics to Microsoft Fabric. This individual will serve as a subject matter expert, a hands-on delivery contributor, and a mentor — guiding the client''s team on right adoption of Fabric architectural best practices including Medallion Architecture, Managed/External Lakehouses, Security, Compliance, and platform governance.

  • Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of CI/CD pipelines integrated with Git within the Microsoft Fabric environment.
  • Work directly with the client s Data Platform team to understand their architecture vision and technical requirements for the Synapse-to-Fabric migration.
  • Provide hands-on delivery assistance across all stages of the migration lifecycle.
  • Accelerate completion of a large-scale data warehouse environment in Microsoft Fabric.
  • Identify and resolve blockers during the initial adoption phase of the Fabric environment.

Architecture Guidance & Best Practices

  • Guide the client team on the right adoption of the Fabric Medallion Architecture (Bronze / Silver / Gold layers) — including proper structuring of Lakehouses, data ingestion patterns, and transformation strategies aligned with enterprise standards.
  • Advise and define standards for Managed Lakehouses (MLVs) within Microsoft Fabric, including schema management, delta table strategies, and OneLake integration best practices.
  • Provide architectural guidance on workspace topology, capacity planning, and the use of Fabric deployment pipelines across Dev / Test / Prod environments.

Security & Compliance (good to have - not extremely necessary)

  • Guide implementation of Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and Row-Level Security (RLS) within Microsoft Fabric Warehouses and Lakehouses.
  • Advise on data security policies including column-level security, sensitivity labels, and Microsoft Purview integration for data governance and compliance cataloging.
  • Ensure all migration artifacts and platform configurations align with the client s regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g., data residency, audit logging, access control policies).
  • Recommend and implement best practices for OneLake security including managed private endpoints and network isolation where applicable.

Mentorship & Enablement

  • Offer technical mentorship to internal client engineers to upskill them on Fabric-native DevOps, Medallion design patterns, security, and governance practices.
  • Conduct working sessions and design reviews with the client s data platform staff to transfer knowledge and establish repeatable patterns.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders including database administrators, data engineers, and project leadership.

Required Skills & Experience

Must-Have:

  • 5+ years of experience in Azure Data Platform technologies.
  • Strong, proven expertise in Microsoft Fabric (Workspaces, Lakehouses, Warehouses, Data Pipelines, OneLake).
  • Hands-on experience implementing CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps / GitHub Actions) with Git integration in Microsoft Fabric.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing Medallion Architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold) in Microsoft Fabric or equivalent Lakehouse platforms.
  • Experience with Managed Lakehouses (MLVs) — delta table management, schema evolution, and OneLake integration.
  • Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics and familiarity with Synapse-to-Fabric migration patterns.
  • Solid understanding of Fabric security model — workspace roles, RBAC, RLS, sensitivity labels, and Purview integration.
  • Deep understanding of data warehouse architecture concepts at enterprise scale.
  • Ability to work directly with client teams in a consulting/advisory capacity.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience with Microsoft Purview for data governance, lineage, and compliance within Fabric.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric deployment pipelines and environment promotion strategies.
  • Knowledge of OneLake network security — private endpoints, managed VNet, and data exfiltration protection.
  • Familiarity with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, or Spark in a Fabric context.
  • Prior experience in mentoring or coaching engineering teams on platform adoption.
