Title: Infrastructure Engineer
Job Type: Contract
Location: Onsite, Las Vegas, NV (with travel to other locations)
Pay Range: $60-$65/hour
Summary
Seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to support and enhance critical IT and operational technology environments within large-scale mining operations. This role focuses on building, maintaining, and optimizing secure, highly available infrastructure that supports both corporate systems and field-based technologies. The ideal candidate has experience working in industrial environments and is comfortable deploying and supporting technology in remote, demanding locations.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain reliable network infrastructure supporting remote and industrial operations, including WAN, LAN, wireless, cellular, and satellite connectivity.
- Administer physical and virtual server environments, edge computing platforms, and cloud-connected storage solutions.
- Support infrastructure that enables industrial control systems, automation platforms, fleet management solutions, and operational technologies.
- Travel to field locations to install, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot networking equipment, servers, communications hardware, and cabling.
- Develop and maintain backup, redundancy, failover, and disaster recovery strategies to ensure continuous business and operational uptime.
- Strengthen infrastructure security by implementing cybersecurity controls and best practices for industrial and enterprise systems.
- Monitor infrastructure performance and proactively resolve issues affecting system reliability and availability.
- Collaborate with technical teams and operational stakeholders to support infrastructure projects and technology initiatives.
Skills
- 4+ years of experience in Infrastructure Engineering, Systems Administration, Network Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Hands-on experience supporting IT and operational technology infrastructure within mining or other heavy industrial environments.
- Strong expertise with enterprise networking technologies, including Cisco, Aruba, industrial switching, routing, and firewall administration.
- Experience managing Windows and Linux server environments.
- Knowledge of virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Understanding of industrial control systems, SCADA environments, and OT networking concepts.
- Experience implementing disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity solutions.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and security best practices for critical infrastructure.
- Ability and willingness to travel to remote industrial sites and work within strict safety requirements.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with mining fleet management platforms and related technologies.
- Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Security+, VMware VCP, or Microsoft cloud/infrastructure certifications.
- Current MSHA certification or previous experience working on active mining sites.
