Business Intel Analyst

Location: Merrifield, Virginia (Hybrid)

Role Overview

The Business Intelligence Analyst for QCRM Reporting & Analytics supports Quality Control Risk Management by delivering accurate, timely, and actionable reporting and analytics. This role maintains recurring reports and dashboards, validates reporting outputs, analyzes trends and risks, supports related system administration activities, and helps translate business needs into clear reporting requirements. The position also supports data validation, access governance, process documentation, and intake coordination for reporting and data-related requests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create, refresh, validate, and distribute recurring QCRM reports and dashboards.
  • Analyze QC results, trends, defects, and operational patterns to provide meaningful insights.
  • Apply data validation, cleaning, reconciliation, and quality control techniques.
  • Maintain documented validation, approval, and evidence records for reporting.
  • Use business intelligence tools such as Power BI, SQL, and Excel to build, refresh, and improve reporting output.
  • Facilitate discussions with leaders and partners to gather requirements and define report specifications.
  • Support intake and tracking of reporting, dashboard, data, and system access requests.
  • Assist with reporting system administration, including access requests and role updates.
  • Support access governance by processing authorized user access requests.
  • Develop and maintain procedures, job aids, and technical documentation.
  • Support audit, exam, and management requests by compiling and explaining reporting outputs.
  • Identify and recommend improvements for reporting accuracy, transparency, and timeliness.
  • Participate in modernization initiatives, including report automation and dashboard migration.
  • Communicate findings, updates, and risks to peers, leaders, and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications

Education: A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Statistics, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Risk Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Experience: 2 to 5 years of experience in data analysis, reporting, business intelligence, quality control reporting, risk reporting, or a related field. A basic understanding of business operations, quality control processes, risk management, or mortgage-related business functions is required.

Technical Skills: Effective skill using business intelligence applications, reporting platforms, dashboard tools, or spreadsheet applications. Knowledge of data cleaning, validation, reconciliation, and data manipulation techniques is necessary.

Abilities: Ability to translate business needs into report specifications. Ability to apply research and analytical skills to identify trends and validate results. Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and effective communication skills are required. Ability to influence decisions, build partnerships, and collaborate across teams.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Power BI, SQL, Excel, Power Query, ACES, Business Objects, SharePoint, or ADO.
  • Experience supporting quality control, mortgage lending, mortgage servicing, or risk management reporting.
  • Experience developing dashboards, report guides, procedures, or technical documentation.
  • Experience supporting role-based access, user access reviews, or system administration activities.
  • Ability to translate complex reporting requirements into practical, user-friendly outputs.
