Job Description:
Schedule project activities (date, time, sequence) for the Nuclear or Engineering Projects organizations. Perform schedule maintenance between Passport and Primavera scheduling tools. Assist various project managers in developing schedules for on-line, outage projects and life-cycle schedules. The purpose of this position is to deliver a timely, coherent, comprehensive, and accurate set of schedules for assigned projects.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Manage capital projects for refueling outages, forced outages, and online work assignments, ensuring safe, high-quality, on-time, and within-budget execution.
- Provide oversight of project planning, execution, monitoring, and control activities for assigned projects.
- Coordinate all phases of project implementation, including budgeting, work package preparation, procurement, ALARA planning, safety compliance, and resource allocation.
- Develop and manage project budgets, track costs against budget, and ensure effective financial control.
- Prepare clearance orders, prioritize work activities, manage resource loading, and oversee risk management processes.
- Monitor project execution, resolve schedule delays and conflicts, and ensure successful project completion.
- Maintain frequent communication with clients, engineers, stakeholders, and management to ensure project alignment and progress.
- Develop, negotiate, and manage contracts while serving as the primary interface with vendors and contractors.
- Create and maintain project schedules that support risk management, progress tracking, accountability, and critical path management.
- Prepare and deliver written reports, presentations, and status updates to senior management and other stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain long-range strategic plans for assigned projects.
- Support the effective implementation of the Columbia Generating Station Self-Assessment and Corrective Action Program.
- Ensure compliance with industrial safety, nuclear safety, quality standards, and regulatory requirements throughout project execution.
Skills and Experience:
- Basic core values as related to human performance, cost-effective work execution.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in a technical field involving Mechanical, Electrical or Nuclear Engineering, or Nuclear Technology and 8 years of nuclear power generation experience in operations, maintenance, engineering or technical project management: OR,
- Associates degree in a technical field involving Mechanical, Electrical or Nuclear Engineering, or Nuclear Technology and 10 years of nuclear power generation experience in operations, maintenance, engineering or technical project management: OR,
- High school diploma or GED and 12 years of nuclear power generation experience in a journey level craft, qualified watch station, field engineer or Quality Control position within operations, maintenance, engineering, or quality assurance.
