About the Opportunity
Join a platform engineering team focused on building secure, scalable cloud infrastructure through automation. In this senior role, you will drive large-scale Infrastructure-as-Code initiatives using Terraform and Ansible across multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform). You will collaborate with product teams, translate requirements into actionable execution plans, and leverage generative AI tools to improve engineering efficiency, accuracy, and security.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, release, and maintain infrastructure-as-code automations using Ansible and Terraform.
  • Plan and lead large technical workstreams; convert complex requirements into well-scoped, actionable deliverables with clear documentation.
  • Manage Git-based workflows (GitLab preferred); create and review merge requests across multiple repositories.
  • Deploy and support infrastructure components using Terraform, Docker, and/or Kubernetes.
  • Implement monitoring, configuration management, and logging across multi-tenant, multi-cloud environments.
  • Author SOPs, knowledge base articles, and technical bulletins; enable smooth handoffs to operations.
  • Operate with a security-first mindset and apply SDLC best practices.
  • Leverage generative AI tools to optimize workflows, accuracy, and resource management.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years hands-on Ansible automation (Roles/Galaxy).
  • 5+ years hands-on Terraform building and maintaining production infrastructure at scale.
  • 5+ years in cloud infrastructure/automation/DevOps roles.
  • Proficiency with Python and Bash; strong Linux administration and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and configuration management (Ansible or equivalent).
  • Foundational knowledge of at least one major cloud (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) and core services (e.g., compute, storage, networking, IAM).
  • Basic networking: TCP/IP, DNS, routing, VPC/VNet connectivity.
  • Familiarity with RBAC, logging/monitoring, and secrets management (e.g., HashiCorp Vault).
  • Ability to produce clear technical documentation and collaborate across teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on use of generative AI/ML to enhance engineering workflows.
  • Experience with large-scale distributed systems.
  • ServiceNow/ITIL experience (incident management, sprint planning).
  • Docker/Kubernetes in production environments.
  • Terraform and/or cloud provider certifications (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
  • Experience in government or regulated environments.

Work Environment

  • Hybrid onsite in Austin, TX, collaborating with product and operations teams.
  • Multi-cloud environment with a strong emphasis on security and automation-first practices.
